RS43 35 Posted January 24, 2020 Posted January 24, 2020 Hi, Any plans for upcoming releases to have the option for blurred backgrounds? Thanks 1
RS43 35 Posted January 24, 2020 Author Posted January 24, 2020 Hi Luke, Image backgrounds when in movies or series section. When I choose Apple TV theme on my android mobile, this is working. However on Nvidia Shield the same theme is just showing the grey background making it difficult to read the text in pre play screens
Luke 42078 Posted January 24, 2020 Posted January 24, 2020 We've tried to do this in the past and it hasn't been received very well. Is the background just too bright for you?
RS43 35 Posted January 24, 2020 Author Posted January 24, 2020 Yes the background of Apple TV is too bright making the text difficult to read, especially in pre play screen. The default Dark mode is in my opinion too dark and with movies with dark posters this does not look great in my opinion.
ebr 16184 Posted January 25, 2020 Posted January 25, 2020 Hi. Are you talking about on an Apple TV device or using that theme in Android TV?
RS43 35 Posted January 25, 2020 Author Posted January 25, 2020 The Apple TV theme is available on Emby App on Nvidia Shield
ebr 16184 Posted January 25, 2020 Posted January 25, 2020 Okay, yes you're right. That theme probably does let just a little too much of the backdrop through. Thanks.
RS43 35 Posted January 25, 2020 Author Posted January 25, 2020 (edited) Thanks, any fix for this available? Cheers Edited January 25, 2020 by RS43
arrbee99 1815 Posted January 25, 2020 Posted January 25, 2020 Please don't start again trying to get backgrounds to disappear. They're meant to be be seen, not hidden behind some fog or graduated into oblivion. 1
RS43 35 Posted January 25, 2020 Author Posted January 25, 2020 This can be added as an option in my opinion, either on or off and keeping everyone happy 1
arrbee99 1815 Posted January 25, 2020 Posted January 25, 2020 Absolutely. I'd add a few more as well re backgrounds and graduation and blur and display posters (or not), maybe a back and white theme, but guess it can start to get complicated
RS43 35 Posted January 25, 2020 Author Posted January 25, 2020 (edited) This gets complicated When backgrounds are enabled it is sometimes difficult to navigate into movies/series section. When default theme is on without backgrounds it looks like the 'brightness' of the screen is too 'dark' at daylight. Edited January 25, 2020 by RS43
arrbee99 1815 Posted January 25, 2020 Posted January 25, 2020 Oh well, guess there isn't a 100% one size fits all perfect background. As you say, even no background can have issues. Maybe some nice rainbow coloured buttons...
