How often is the TEMP Directory supposed to be deleted?

My temp folder is 0 bytes. Rather than just adding info to the homepage it might be better to figure out why the server cannot or is not cleaning up that folder on your system.

Server is running under my account. The same account I use the computer with and as the data is in my appdata/roaming folder there should be no additional permissions needed. That is the entire point specified for installing in this directory.

And providing users with access to information is never a bad idea.

it clears them on startup and periodically throughout the day. everything the core uses the temp folder for also cleans it out immediately after use. could be from a plugin.

Temporary usually means that things don't last long. I had 88 GB of stuff in my %appdata%/Mediabrowser-Server/cache/temp/ directory going back to January 17, 2014. Only reason, I knew about this is that I started getting messages that my SSD was critically low on space. Down to 8 MB. This needs to be deleted more often.

In fact, on the Dashboard screen, I think there should be a panel that shows available space on the drive where Mediabrowser Server is installed and each Share used in the library. This should independently list how much is being used by the Cache and TEMP directories at the %appdata%/Mediabrowser-Server/ as well. There should also be buttons to clear each of these locations.

Only have plugins from the core team installed. Could it be from downloading content from channels?

Running the download task for channels and it is the Trailers Channel. So I'll turn that off for now.

interesting. it's using a move file command, and in my tests not leaving the old files behind in the temp directory. probably one of those things that will be different on different file systems, so i'll have it look for and delete immediately after.

I have posted exactly the same in the server thread in the dev area, but it obviously didn't get read.
