Emby ffmpeg conversion takes 100% of the CPU

Hi guys.

Now that I (well, you ^^) solved my problem of stuttering, I have another problem.

Here it is. When Emby has some conversion to do, the movie is unplayable but whatever, and also, the NAS CPU goes to 100% because of some FFMPEG processus.

If I stop the movie, those FFMEG process stay there. The only way I found to get rid of them is to restart my Emby container.

So, right now, I put a scheduled task on my NAS that restart every night my PLEX docker but... That not optimal...

Do you know anyways to kill those FFMPEG processus when I stop the movie ?

Nb : My emby server is installed on a docker container that is on a Synology DS1819+.

Hi there, can you please attach the emby server log? thanks.

Hmm, sure... One day I'll be able to do my post correctly at the first try :-D.

You're trying to transcode 4K bluray content while also burning in subtitles on the fly. This will be a very intensive process even for a powerful server machine.

If you turn off subtitles the CPU usage may come down a little, although even that's not guaranteed.

Well, for some reason, if I kill the ffmpeg process, then turn off subtitles, and play the movie, I have no issue. It is not transcoding anymore.

But the point is, why do I have to kill those ffmpeg processes ? Why don t they stop when I stop the movie ?

They do stop. How exactly did you stop the movie?

I press the "pause" button then turn of the TV or switch to some TV show
