craigtrombly 0 Posted June 20, 2014 Posted June 20, 2014 I had to rebuild the computer that Media Browser was running on and when I attempted to copy in the back-up of the folders I had from /AppData, the server basically said the files, folders or database was corrupt and unusable. I have over 4 to 6 thousand entries. 1200 movies, 2500 songs, 3000 episodes. All of the actual files themselves are still intact and fine. What approach would you suggest, just add the new locations and let re-scan and then re-fix the hundreds, maybe thousands of names I fixed before in cleaning up, or is there some raw XML files I can use from the backup that has these that can fix with the new locations?
techywarrior 689 Posted June 20, 2014 Posted June 20, 2014 If you had the server setup to store the metadata in the media folders then just have it rescan (because it will use the metadata in those folders). If you didn't.... well, I would suggest you do that this time Someone may know a way to fix your files but when I recently built my new server I just copied the appdata and it worked fine. Note, all my metadata was in the media folders and the path to the files was identical. 1
Koleckai Silvestri 1154 Posted June 20, 2014 Posted June 20, 2014 Were the files of your user on the previous OS encrypted? If so, you probably can't recover. That is one of the drawbacks of using the LocalData/Roaming folder. If you're username and password are the same and they weren't encrypted by the OS, then you should be able to reuse them.
