Drobac Boris 3 Posted January 19, 2020 Posted January 19, 2020 Hi i installed wireguard on raspberry pi where my emby server is. ( because i want to have access to my local network from internet on my android phone)And i can access radarr, sonarr, transmission, samba, ssh like as i'm within local network, but when i want to access emby with my local address (192.168.1.12:8096) i get forbidden message when i want to access server through android app i get message "Conection Failure" What can i do? Before wireguard i had installed zerotier which is similar solution, and i could access emby normally.
Guest asrequested Posted January 19, 2020 Posted January 19, 2020 Do they support portforwarding? Taking a quick look, I didn't find anything that says they do. You need to ask them if you can forward a port through them.
Drobac Boris 3 Posted January 19, 2020 Author Posted January 19, 2020 (edited) @ this is vpn that is similar to openvpn, they are not a company, i'm just accessing myraspberry pi server through tunnel, data is not sent through some servers.. i'm accessing my home with port that i opened "51820" and i can then access all my local network, just can't access embyEdit: i think emby is reachable because when i enter correct emby address and port i get "forbidden" text outputWhen i enter emby address and random port i get normal message "this site can't be reached"Maybe emby refuses to connect me because it see that i'm not on local network? Drobac Boris 3 Posted January 19, 2020 Author Posted January 19, 2020 (edited) I'm at work on adnroid phone, and on that site i can't change ip address to point it to my home router, but i tried that site with port that i opened for vpn to work and it did not said it was open, but i can access my home just fine through that port.Edit: my local network addresses are 192.168.1.xAnd vpn gave my phone address 10.10.10.x, maybe thats why emby refuse to give permission? Can i somewhere in emby settings allow that address, and try again? Solution Happy2Play 9783 Posted January 19, 2020 Solution Posted January 19, 2020 (edited) I'm at work on adnroid phone, and on that site i can't change ip address to point it to my home router, but i tried that site with port that i opened for vpn to work and it did not said it was open, but i can access my home just fine through that port. Edit: my local network addresses are 192.168.1.x And vpn gave my phone address 10.10.0.x, maybe thats why emby refuse to give permission? Can u somewhere in emby settings allow that address, and try again? That is what I was going to ask if the vpn was the same network as your LAN. Do you have any options set via Dashboard-Network, as that is the only time I have seen Connection Refused. LAN networks: Comma separated list of IP addresses or IP/netmask entries for networks that will be considered on local network when enforcing bandwidth restrictions. If set, all other IP addresses will be considered to be on the external network and will be subject to the external bandwidth restrictions. If left blank, only the server's subnet is considered to be on the local network. Edited January 19, 2020 by Happy2Play 1
Drobac Boris 3 Posted January 20, 2020 Author Posted January 20, 2020 @@Happy2Play that did the trick, i added ip address of my vpn there and now it's connecting without issues. Thank you!
