Frankst 0 Posted January 18, 2020 Posted January 18, 2020 (edited) Hi All, Have been using Emby for a long time without any major issues, until now. Since a couple of weeks Emby stopped identifying content. Also trying to identify manually delivers no results. I Have tried renaming new content, but since I always used the format "Moviename" (YEAR), I do not expect that that is the issue. Looking up files at https://www.themoviedb.org directly works fine with the names used in my storage. Attached the log, and notice issues around the time 2020-01-18 20:23:31.855. Thanks! Luke 42085 Posted January 18, 2020 Posted January 18, 2020 Hi there, yes, please discuss an example and attach the emby server log. Thanks !
Luke 42085 Posted January 18, 2020 Posted January 18, 2020 It would appear you're having a network problem. Emby Server is not able to make any communication with the outside world and that is the reason for your problem. Most likely you have something blocking the traffic such as firewall, security software, or VPN. If you can resolve this then that should take care of this.
Frankst 0 Posted January 18, 2020 Author Posted January 18, 2020 Thanks for your Reply Luke. I am not aware of any changes to ny firewall or network but will check it out. Best, Frank
Frankst 0 Posted January 22, 2020 Author Posted January 22, 2020 Tried to sort out what could be the root cause by disabling Windows firewall and whitelisting the server where Emby runs on my Pfsense firewall, but without result. Checked all blocked traffic to see if trafffic was blocked indeed but nothing in the log. Installed a second instance of Emby on a VM running on the server. Tested with media files from the server: Internet accessible Reinstalled Emby on the server: rebuilds media info, so internet accessible. After being online for two days: noticed that I am no longer able to look up media, logs are showing time outs again. Seems that there is either an issue on the server/installation.......
Luke 42085 Posted January 23, 2020 Posted January 23, 2020 I don't think it's a question of internet accessibility, I think something is actively blocking the server from making those connections. As we see in the log, it's not just the metadata providers, it can't even check for available updates.
Frankst 0 Posted January 23, 2020 Author Posted January 23, 2020 OK see what you mean, you are right. The server itself and other applcations are OK, just Emby traffic seems to be blocked. Just not sure what to look for now, or what the best approach would be. Thanks for your support here. Seems not to be an Emby issue.
Luke 42085 Posted January 24, 2020 Posted January 24, 2020 Please let us know if you find anything. Thanks.
