I am getting hi CPU usage on transcode 4k file. Here is a copy of my ffmpeg log

your server can't keep up... 7fps is not gonna be a nice experience.  Why do you think it would be better?

Apparently this only happens when I use the Firefox app. It's ok when I use the Samsung or Firetv app

@@dutch1918 firefox doesn't support the original media format and so therefore the server has to transcode. This can be a very intensive process for your server machine. Your options are:

 

• Use Emby apps that support more media formats without transcoding, such as Samsung, Android/Fire TV, iOS, etc.
• Limit your playback to files that can direct play, such as mp4 with h264 video
• Check out Emby Server's media conversion feature to help you automate converting these to more streaming friendly formats.

Is the Hardware Acceleration enabled in the emby transcoding settings? If you switch to "Advanced" you should see some hardware decoders.

If not, make sure you have added the `embysrv` user in the video group in DSM and restart Emby via the DSM package manager (restart in Emby is not enough).
