Collections Thumbnail not Rebuilding

Hey guys,

 

just a quick dumb question.  I was moving some of the paths to a new drive and everything scanned and rebuilt just fine but for some odd reason the collections thumbnail is not rebuilding the mosaic of titles on the thumbnail.  Its probably something stupid but I can't seem to figure out why.

 

I even put the metadata back where it used to be to see if that would cause it to rebuild but nothing.  I know the collection data is stored on the C: drive but I made no changes at all to the C: drive.

 

Any suggestions?

Sorry I'm confused. I did not move any libraries. I did not move the Metadata folder.  My collections are still there with their Metadata. I only moved the Cache Path to another drive. The only issue I have is the thumbnail for collection is blank.

Yes I do. Everything is still there. Just the thumbnail is blank

Any help on this? Sorry it's just annoying that I can't figure out why it's not rebuilding the thumbnail.

You could try refreshing metadata on the Collections library.

I think I may have found the problem.  The drive that the metadata path is on is starting to fail and needs to be replaced.  If I can't move all the metadata to the new drive before it dies can I create a new path on a new drive and will it re-download all the metadata onto the new drive during a scan?

No it will just recognize that the current metadata is gone. You have to specifically refresh metadata.

But I can just do that at the parent level if the library right? I don't have to do that individually for each movie I hope. Lol

Sorry to keep asking about something so trivial but it is really bothering me that I can't figure it out. I am about ready to re-scan my entire library over a silly thumbnail LOL. I moved the metadata path to a new drive and refreshed. Everything downloaded great and the library is back to exactly the way it was with only one exception, the collections thumbnail is still blank.  It must have something to do with the fact that the collections are on the C: drive and all of the other data is stored somewhere else. When I click on collections everything shows up as it should.  But for some strange reason the thumbnail is not populating with movies from my collections.

Try adding a new collection using the web interface. Then run a library scan.

Try removing the collections library from library setup, then add a new collection and run a library scan.

Hi,

I know this is a old post but I have the same issue, I had to install a fresh installation of emby on linux, due to the MB on the original install failing.

I was able to perform the installation, and import the last backup that had been done, after the restoration of the backup the collections has no thumbnails:

However selecting it does show the collections:

 

However there is no option to refesh the data:

 

even at library level:

 

I am using emby sever 4.6.7.0, how can i perforrm a refresh or have the current collection deleted and rebuilt ?

Attached is the server log at debug, i stopped and cleared the logs, then started emby and ran the scan library before capturing the logs.

OK managed to resolve the issue, looks like the folder 

/var/lib/emby/data/collections

  did not get created automatically after the reinstall and restore from the backup file, manually creating it and running the scan library again seems to have resolved the thumbnails..  Maybe the startup code could be amended to create the folder if it doesn't exist..
