The right HD Home Run EXTEND settings?

Hello all, 

 

Can someone please tell me the optimal settings for the Default Transcode Profile

 

Also should I be selecting "Allow hardware transcoding" under Emby live TV?

So the settings in Emby are telling it to compress the video on the HD Home Run? 

 

I'm not sure I understand.  I am only using this for Emby so regardless of what I choose the settings don't do anything?

 

Surely I want to do compression on the unit.   That is why I bought the more expensive unit. 

 

I have a GTX 1050 and a HD Home Run Extend.  If I select allow hardware transcoding it is telling both pieces of hardware to encode right?

 

I am not asking for mere curiosity.  I am having a problem with the two tuners getting hung or something and I am running out of tuners as a result.  I am getting an error message in my Roku clients.  I will send logs if it continues to be a problem but I thought I would start by setting this up the right way.

if you enable the option to allow hardware transcoding on the tuner, then Emby Server will pick the stream quality to request from your HDHR based on what is being requested by the Emby app you're playing from. In other words, it picks the closest one.

Ok do you have any idea which of the default profiles of the Extend is nearest the default of Emby?

heavy i guess. there isn't' really a default because it makes the decision based on the criteria i mentioned above.
