Most of my movies or TV shows are 5.1 audio but Chromecast seems to not support it...

 

And I have different audio codec... aac, ac3, mp3...

 

Only 2.0 stereo works. I think that Emby (or Plex) don't have the capability to convert 5.1 surround to 2.0 stereo yet..

So you're saying it's direct playing and you want it to be converted?

Maybe.. Actually, I don't really know. How can I get my movies converted ?

In your user settings in the server, try disabling 'allow audio playback that requires transcoding', and test playing your media, again. This will test if your Chromecast actually supports the audio. If it does, it will play correctly.

No, don't do that, it's already direct playing. Can you please go over an example? Please attach the emby server log. Thanks.

I tried to play some movies like "Alita" which is 5.1 but it didn't work.

What do you mean by didn't work? What exactly happened? What is the media info of the file?

I mean that the movie plays as well but I don't get 5.1 sound through chromecast because of its audio codec (I want to read french version)

I think I find a solution, actually emby (ffmep) transcode the movie from aac to ac3 (and don't transcode ac3 to aac)... Like Chromecast doesn't support ac3, how can I disallow this ?
