ghostguy 6 Posted June 19, 2014 Posted June 19, 2014 (edited) I discovered an issue I'm having with, what I believe is Auto-organize Any file that is Auto-organzied from my DL folder to the Series/Season locations becomes corrupt. The video file will play but the picture freezes however the audio continues to play. The original that's sitting in my DL folder is fine. If i manually move the exact same episode to the Series/Season location is works fine like always. Thoughts? Edited June 19, 2014 by ghostguy
Luke 42078 Posted June 19, 2014 Posted June 19, 2014 at the moment none. haven't heard of that before.
ghostguy 6 Posted June 19, 2014 Author Posted June 19, 2014 (edited) Correct me if i'm mistaken, but theres not even anything to install/reinstall to wipe and try again with Auto-organize Edited June 19, 2014 by ghostguy
Koleckai Silvestri 1154 Posted June 19, 2014 Posted June 19, 2014 Can also do a hash/CRC comparison using a tool like hashcheck - http://code.kliu.org/hashcheck/
ebr 16184 Posted June 20, 2014 Posted June 20, 2014 Is it possible that some anti-malware on your machine is doing something because we are programatically moving files around?
ghostguy 6 Posted June 20, 2014 Author Posted June 20, 2014 Its strictly a HTPC so no anti-malware installed
Luke 42078 Posted June 20, 2014 Posted June 20, 2014 well first thing i would do is some comparisons to see if they're byte for byte equivalent. if they are, then auto-organize is fine
ebr 16184 Posted June 20, 2014 Posted June 20, 2014 Start with are the file sizes exactly the same. Then Google a tool that can compare them.
ghostguy 6 Posted June 20, 2014 Author Posted June 20, 2014 and some info My HTPC holds MBT and MB server The actual content is sitting on a QNAP server hardwired meaning no wifi BS
ghostguy 6 Posted June 20, 2014 Author Posted June 20, 2014 Start with are the file sizes exactly the same. Then Google a tool that can compare them. what tool term would I reference ? "video file details?" or "video file data"
ghostguy 6 Posted June 20, 2014 Author Posted June 20, 2014 just checked and yes both "game of thrones" S04E10.mkv are 1.68gigs both in the DL and the Show folder, and yes this was moved by auto-organize
Luke 42078 Posted June 20, 2014 Posted June 20, 2014 a tool that can generate a checksum value will be best. then you know they're identical. my memory escapes so you'll have to search
ebr 16184 Posted June 20, 2014 Posted June 20, 2014 There was a command built into XP: https://www.microsoft.com/resources/documentation/windows/xp/all/proddocs/en-us/comp.mspx?mfr=true Probably still there...
