Turosian 5 Posted January 13, 2020 Posted January 13, 2020 Not sure if this belongs in a feature request area, or if there is another place I should be asking for help...please forgive me if I've posted this in the wrong location. Re: Zero, an Anime show which finished its first season in 2016 is getting a 2nd season starting in April of 2020. The original 1st season had 25 half-hour episodes. As a lead-in to the 2nd season, they are releasing a new "Director's cut" of the 1st season with hour long episodes, and which does NOT match the original season release episode by episode. I see in the naming rules here: https://github.com/MediaBrowser/Wiki/wiki/TV-naming that you can have two versions of an episode, like: show name - S01E01 - Display Name 1.ext show name - S01E01 - Display Name 2.ext However, I do not think this solution would work for this show, as the episode descriptions are likely to be entirely different for the hour long director's cut than they are for the original release of the 1st season. Does anyone have any suggestions how I might best be able to store this media so it shows up in Emby? Is there a concept of "Alt Season 1" or something like that? If there is no solution for this, then I think this show has created a need. TheTVDb link to the show is: https://www.thetvdb.com/series/re-zero-starting-life-in-another-world Thanks very much,
Turosian 5 Posted January 13, 2020 Author Posted January 13, 2020 Additional information, the link to TheTVDB is the only link I can find to the series with their new "updated" (and confusing and inferior IMHO) interface, and it points to TheTVDb series ID #.305089 My Emby server thinks the series ID is #656941, although I can no longer find the advanced search I used to use to search a series by ID on their main search page.
Luke 42079 Posted January 13, 2020 Posted January 13, 2020 The two options i can think of would be to make them special episodes, or do a whole new season for it next to season one. You could name it Season 1 (Director's Cut), then lock it to avoid metadata changes.
