Non-priority. Randomized AutoPlaylist, and Up-Next AutoPlaylist

You watch TV in two modes. The first you like to sit there and watch a new episode, or catch up on a lot of missed episodes of a lot of different shows, but you don't want to be manually changing which show you're using the 'up-next' feature on. You just want every "next" watched episode to be the oldest unwatched episode of each show it randomly selects. So basically you watch several shows concurrently, randomly jumping between them, but NEVER out of order (first to last).

 

SECOND way you like to watch shows, is you want to do some house cleaning, and you can remember how the episode goes if you hear it, so you don't need to be watching it and your concentration can be on something else. But this needs to be limited to only previously-watched episodes (like cartoons, playing in the background). Never would you want to have an unseen episode play because then you'll have missed part of it, and you have to figure out if you've seen it before or should you sit down and forget about vacuuming the reflective-sound-dampened carpeted shelves (audiophiles you know what I'm taking about).

 

Mostly this is an idea for cartoons, to be funny and playing in the background, but you don't want all the shows to do this, only selective ones, play randomly through previously watched episodes.

 

For sit-down shows or new episodes when it's the center of your attention it would be nice to have a continuously next-up but choosing a random show between previously selected approved shows.

An improvement on the above feature is an "I slept through it, set as unwatched" button which shows the last X-hours of episodes watched prior to a Y-hour non-response timeout occurred, this would undo the watched flag upon said episodes if the user were to pass out while auto-next is on. A menu displaying a list of the most recent episodes so you can click the last one you recall seeing, all later ones will be set to unwatched.

Hi.  I'm pretty sure there is a specific request already for your first item but searching this forum for the words "next" and "up" is impossible so hard to find .  In any case, it would also be covered by Smart Playlists

 

Your second request is the opposite of this (Shuffle unplayed) so I think would be covered in the same scenario.
