MAJOR flaw within the "Folder Sync" plugin

After some (almost) entire damn library losses due to what I *thought* were user errors, I realized that it wasn't in fact my fault, but the Folder sync plugins' fault (this has happened to me before in the past mind you, causing me to lose half of my damn library)

 

Basically, if you "remove" a synced library, it will delete the ORIGINAL library, NOT the sync'ed library. If you were to remove a download during the sync process, it would be possible to lose the majority of your media (this was the mistake I originally made a couple months back, thinking that I was at fault)

 

I think it'll be easier to see an example of this, so I've recorded a video and attached a link to it. 

 

I took a snippet of my music library just to make sure I don't accidentally lose my whole library, if you test this I advise you to do the same. I also made sure to exit my Emby server process to prevent a library scan wiping the Music database causing me to have to rebuild it from scratch, losing playlists and more.

• Drive M (Media): The original drive that stores my content
• Drive D (MLBCK): The drive that stores my backup content; The backup folder on this drive is where Folder Sync is set to sync the media.

TLDR: I'd advise against removing Folder Sync'ed content from the Emby dashboard unless you are absolutely sure your backup has been complete and syncing is not in progress.

By removing a synced library, I mean to manually go into the Downloads tab and remove a sync from the backup drive

I think they are talking about the conversions tab for offline sync?

That makes no sense how that could even happen to me as at most the transcoder would only be accessing the file being converted would it not?

Synced library meaning I right clicked my library -> download to -> selected my Folder Sync backup provider and hit download

Is the folder path that you added to the folder sync plugin also part of an emby library?

No. The folder sync location is set to a drive dedicated to holding media backups.

Ok, it appears that this also happens with the Google Drive plugin. I'm assuming this also happens with the other backup plugins as well.
