Have "Overview" section show as list instead of continuous?

HI folks.  I have some concert DVDs I ripped from my DVD collection.  I'd like to have the metadata "Overview" section show them as a list instead of continuous writing.  Example:

Instead of:

1. Song 2. Song Name 3. Song Name

I'd like this:

1. Song name

2. Song name

3. Song name

Possible?

Alternatively/additionally is there a way to apply name values to the chapters?

Help would be appreciated.  Thanks!

Chapters can be named using MKVToolnixGUI.

Awesome!  Totally didn't know that.  If I open the file from the Chapter Editor menu, edit the chapter names, then click Start Multiplexing to create the new file, is there any quality loss?  I'm pretty sure the answer is no but I'd like to be certain.  Thank you!

Actually when you edit chapter names, you just need to hit ctrl-s to save and you're done. No need to remux.

But if you do remux for whatever reason, there is no quality loss.

Even better!  Will I have to rescan with Emby or should it just populate the chapter names automatically?  Thank you for the quick help.  Really appreciate that.

Once you've done your chapter names and saved, in emby you just need to refresh that item.

Hi.  Unfortunately, there is no universal way to represent a carriage return/new line.  We would have to write something special and have each app interpret it themselves.

Got it.  Thanks for the quick response.  I think the chapter rename will be just fine for what I want but I appreciate you taking the time to respond.  Appreciated.

Well I'm back...  Along these same lines I thought I would ask another question about something I'm having a problem with.  I have an MKV file but the chapters are all screwed up.  I imported into MKVToolnix and changed all the chapter times and ran the utility to make a new file but it kept all the chapter files the way they were before I fixed all the times.  I removed 2 as well and it didn't take that either.  I'm wondering if maybe me removing the first chapter as one of those 2 chapters I removed caused a problem.  Is there something special I have to do?

As a side note to removing those chapters, is there another tool I can use to remove the first couple minutes and THEN change the chapters?  I can't seem to find anything that will cut the beginning of the MKV (create a new file without quality loss that doesn't have the first few minutes) with the tools I know and own.

Help appreciated!

MKVToolnix can also cut files losslessly. In the multiplexer's output tab, select "split after timecodes".

Yup I figured out both things.  I think I had the wrong file open.  Thank you!
