yaksplat 66 Posted January 4, 2020 Posted January 4, 2020 We tend to shuffle shows in a long running series, such as friends, Tom and Jerry or Seinfeld. It would be nice if the shuffle function could have the option of just choosing from unplayed episodes so the same ones dont come up again. The same goes for watching items in playlists. I use playlist for content that is in show format but handled like movies; Looney tunes and old Disney cartoons. Thanks! 3 1
levander 97 Posted January 4, 2020 Posted January 4, 2020 You already can do that. Filter unplayed than shuffle. 1
ebr 16183 Posted January 4, 2020 Posted January 4, 2020 You already can do that. Filter unplayed than shuffle. Correct. yaksplat, do you see this now?
yaksplat 66 Posted January 4, 2020 Author Posted January 4, 2020 I'm in the web app. Okay, I'm looking at the playlists, clicked filter, playstate: unplayed. I start a playlist and it plays items that have been played. Just to be sure, i marked every item in the playlist as played, except one. If i go into the playlist, they all show up, none are filtered out. Trying it on a series. I have it again filtered on unplayed. I go into a series where episodes 1-6 have been played and 7-10 have not. I click shuffle and episode 6 starts. Am I doing something wrong?
Luke 42078 Posted January 5, 2020 Posted January 5, 2020 Playlists don't have any kind of filtering like this, what gave you that impression? When you click all on a playlist, it will play everything in the playlist.
Luke 42078 Posted January 5, 2020 Posted January 5, 2020 I think what you're doing is filtering on one screen, then clicking into another screen and then hitting play. Is that correct? The screen you're hitting play on is the entire series. It doesn't take into account the filters you had selected on the previous screen.
yaksplat 66 Posted January 5, 2020 Author Posted January 5, 2020 Is there a good way to filter an entire series then?
ebr 16183 Posted January 5, 2020 Posted January 5, 2020 You could use the "Episodes" view but that isn't limited by series. The Android TV app does have a view that would allow you to do what you are trying to with a series (not a playlist as played state in a playlist is usually irrelevant) but it is the only app that has that at the moment.
Luke 42078 Posted January 5, 2020 Posted January 5, 2020 Yes i agree this would be a nice thing to add. 1
