videos are black (with functioning audio) after windows screensaver ends

I have a photo screensaver that runs, and when I hit a key and come back to Emby, playing videos results in a completely black screen but the audio plays. So the video is playing but with no picture. I used to have windows prompt for a password after the screensaver and this problem didn't happen then. So for some reason without the password prompt, i.e. a direct transition from the screensaver back to emby, the problem happens.

 

The workaround is to restart emby theater after the screensaver ends, but that's a pretty lousy workaround.

 

The other workaround is to reinstate the password prompt but I don't want to do that!

 

I'm running 3.0.6 because of the overlay problem in subsequent versions btw.

Hmm, that's quite strange. Does it change the windows display mode? I wouldn't think so but that's all I can think of.

I don't think so but I'll try it with a different screensaver and see if I can still repro.

Built in Windows screensavers don't seem to cause the problem so I'll find a different photos screensaver.
