inzombyac 69 Posted June 17, 2014 Posted June 17, 2014 After adding a Bluetooth adapter to my MB server machine I noticed that the "Attempt to Wake Server" option was no longer working from my clients. If I manually triggered a wake on LAN request, the server woke up just fine. I dug deeper in the logs on the client and discovered that the clients were sending the request to the MAC address of the Bluetooth adapter and not the NIC card. After disabling the PAN network interface for the Bluetooth adapter everything went back to normal. This leads me to two questions: 1) How does the server/client determine the MAC address of the MB server? 2) Is there a way to hard code the NIC card MAC address to prevent future issues?
ebr 16184 Posted June 18, 2014 Posted June 18, 2014 I don't think there is any way for us to know which NIC is receiving traffic for us so we just use the first one we find.
