Streaming High Quality Movies

I have recently made a video of a vacation with my family containing some drone and Go-pro footage.  The video was made in 4k.  I could not get the 4k video to play so i made one in 1080P and still wouldn't work.  I lowered the bitrate on the video quite a bit and plays fine on my local network but when my family connects from their houses the video quality is poor.  What can i do to resolve this and make the video look good?  would love to be able to stream the 4k  content.  Below is the media info of the movie.

Hi.  It is hard to say but your remote connection may not be able to handle a bitrate that high (14Mb).

What is the upload speed of your internet connection where the server is?  What is the download speed where the people are trying to view it?

Server upload speeds are 40Mbps and remote end is 50Mbps.  What would be a good bitrate to have and still keep the quality good?

Try setting it to something like 3 mbps, then work your way up as you see success.

I just tried compressing it to 3mbps and the video looks terrible.  How do these guys online compress a whole movie to a little over 2mbps?

How did you try doing that?
