Emby Server 4.3.1.0 timeouts

Hello to all and a happy and prosperous 2020!!

 

I have been testing Emby during the past couple of weeks with various devices within my home network (Android, Kodi, Samsung & LG Smart TVs). Not all clients are user-friendly and not of them operate with equal reliability.

 

My server setup is a HP ML-310 server with Win10 installed and my library consists of thousands of movies and TV episodes. Also, most clients are connected via a wired 1 GBps connections to the server. Firewall has been adjusted accordingly and the antivirus software does not scan the Emby server folder.

 

I have been experiencing severe timeout errors to all clients. For example, within Kodi (EmbyCon client) many times the client times out when trying to list TV series or movies. The relevant notification pops up and - some times - the emby login window also pops up. Furthermore, the Emby interface lags in responsiveness in many cases even from Firefox desktop clients (browser), for example when selecting "Manage Emby Server".. the interface hangs and the loading image keeps on appearing.

 

I tried to pinpoint the cause of these timeouts within the Emby error log and I found the following errors. Some of them might be related to the timeout issue, some of them might be bugs of another nature:
