Tech127 20 Posted June 17, 2014 Posted June 17, 2014 So as I am rebuilding my library, I noticed in one of my movie .nfo files, that there was an entry for actor thumb: <actor> <name>Sigourney Weaver</name> <role>Ripley</role> <thumb>C:\Users\Admin\AppData\Roaming\MediaBrowser-Server\ImagesByName\People\S\Sigourney Weaver\poster.jpg</thumb> </actor> Noticing this pointed to a local path and given that all of the movie artwork is stored on the server, I under /advanced/path/images I pointed to a folder on the server. Also to make things faster, I copied everything from C:\Users\Admin\AppData\Roaming\MediaBrowser-Server\ImagesByName to \\HDA\MediaBrowser\Images. When I rescan the movie, there is no entry in the .nfo for thumb anymore. <actor> <name>Sigourney Weaver</name> <role>Ripley</role> </actor> Is this expected behavior or did I do something wrong? I can easily change it back, it just seems like keeping everything in the same place makes more sense...
Luke 42078 Posted June 17, 2014 Posted June 17, 2014 after copying you should run the refresh people scheduled task so that those copied images can be rediscovered. of course this will happen on a schedule automatically anyway, but it sounds like you need it quicker than that
Tech127 20 Posted June 18, 2014 Author Posted June 18, 2014 So just an update on this for anyone else with the same question: After rescanning the people, the links were added back into the .nfo files BUT they were not pointing to the new address. It was still the local C:\Users\Admin\AppData\Roaming\MediaBrowser-Server\ImagesByName\ folder. I tried a Scheduled Task/Scan media library which did not fix the links. Manually updating the library from Metadata manager corrected the issue and the .nfo's now point to the new location at smb://hda/MediaBrowser/Images/ For anyone using XBMC, that info also shows up there now too.
