donkrell 0 Posted December 29, 2019 Posted December 29, 2019 I'm a new user and have installed Emby Server on a dedicated WIndows 10 PC that I use exclusively as a media player for a "high" end audio system. I'm able to use DLNA to play media from Emby on several other systems in my home that support DLNA. But I want to play them on the Emby server system. I've seen references to this on the web but have been unable to find specific instructions on how to accomplish this. I've installed VLC on the same PC and can play files from the Emby server on the audio system using the VLC app. I'd like to skip the need for VLC and just use the Emby system. In addition, I'd like to be able to control the system using the Emby apps on both my android and IOS devices. Is this to much to ask?
PenkethBoy 2068 Posted December 29, 2019 Posted December 29, 2019 install Emby Theater on the win 10 pc - and it will play your videos
donkrell 0 Posted December 30, 2019 Author Posted December 30, 2019 Thanks for the prompt responses. Emby Theater looks like it's completely geared to video. The system I have is completely audio and that is its only use. It has no monitor, no keyboard or mouse and no way to display video without pushing data on to the network. My current solution using VLC works but it has a lot of pieces. I was hoping to find something a bit less complex. I don't think the Emby Theater will work for me.
Guest asrequested Posted December 30, 2019 Posted December 30, 2019 Just leave the Theater app running, and cast from the mobile apps.
