Downgrade emby

I need to downgrade from 4.3.1 to 4.2.1 (there are playback issues, I'll make another post about that later on)
The problem is that when I downgrade the whole menu gets fu**ed. The layout is all over the place (player controls included).

I am running emby using the linux package so I think I could delete all of the emby folders and reinstall it but I can't find all of them.

So I moved all of my files to GoogleDrive and mounted it with rclone.
Then I noticed some of the files were not playing back correctly, the playback would start for 1-2s if at all and then reset, that would repeat few times and then i'd get this error

I assumed it was rclone but then I tested it by playing a file directly from the server (not through the cloud) and got the same error.
So I upgraded emby to 4.4 - same issue.

Then since everything worked fine on 4.2.1 I downgraded to 4.2.1
and it seem to work okay (with exception of the menus as shown in the post)

It only seems to affect Anime, everything else plays alright.
And it's only some of the files (50-60%)

For comparison purposes, can you provide an ffmpeg log from 4.2.1? thanks.

So I downgraded back to 4.2.1 (all the menus are broken again) played the same video (it played fine, it kept playing even after I closed it but I blame it on the broken menus) and checked the logs folder.
There is no corresponding ffmpeg log

I don't think I'll be able to get you an ffmpeg log.

Actually is it okay if it's a windows ffmpeg log from a different machine (of the same file of course).

Okay then... so I played the same mkv file on 4.3.1 - windows 10 (on my local machine and it works fine) so it's most likely something with my setup on the ubuntu server.

Thanks for the info. Just to rule out the browser, can you try the same browser on windows 10 playing content from the linux server? Thanks.

I tired Firefox, Brave (Chromium based) and Edge none of them worked.
Also tested on Chrome on windows 7.

It kinda works on mobile though - the video played alright but the timeline stayed at 0:00 then I forwarded the video to 6:18 and that fixed the timeline.


PS I wiped the whole server so this is a fresh installation of everything including emby (4.3.1)

Also:
  - the video doesn't work when any subtitles are selected in the menu (on browser)
  - the video plays fine without any subtitles selected (on browser)
  - it plays on mobile with or without subtitles (mobile emby app)

This is weird.
I tested it with the same .mkv file that I already provided info for in one of the comments above.

PS I'm pretty sure the same video worked fine in 4.2.1 or 4.2.0.

Okay so I tested it and I'm 100% sure that it works on 4.2.0.40.

It works perfectly.

 

4.2.1 has fuc*ed menus so I couldn't select the subtitles

and 4.3.1+ doesn't work.

Also are you running the server on Cloudfare? Does this only happen when accessing remotely?

The whole server is set up in such a way so it can only be accessed remotely and yes it is running on cloudflare why?

 

About the beta, I'm currently not in a position to test it.
