preedy 1 Posted December 29, 2019 Posted December 29, 2019 Hello, i am new to all this but have been working hard. Countless installs, reconfigures, and now I get [EFAULT] Exception: CallError:[EFAULT] An error occured! Please read above occured, destroyed emby. I was having trouble with my emby jail mount points permissions. So i chmod -R 777 iocage. Which cuased the permission to lax error. I've fixed that but now i get the current error. I tried emby-server-beta install, but could not find a user for the server and was not able to start it. I've tried to many things to list. I'm a beginner in all aspect of this but if you have any suggestion please inform me.
Luke 42077 Posted December 29, 2019 Posted December 29, 2019 Hi, how exactly did you try to install? What version of freenas?
preedy 1 Posted December 29, 2019 Author Posted December 29, 2019 (edited) my freenas is FreeNAS-11.2-U7 I went through many installs, but the lastest tries, GUi in freenas plugins: 4.2.1.0_1. This one i get the EFUALT error. I also tried and gave up on pkg add -f https://github.com/MediaBrowser/Emby.Releases/releases/download/4.4.0.2/emby-server-freebsd11_4.4.0.2_amd64.txz This does install, however I had issues with not knowing the user of the jail "it gave no id emby user" Once I stop the jail and tried mounting points the server would not restart. preedy 1 Posted December 29, 2019 Author Posted December 29, 2019 I was thinking of trying to reset, destroy the iocage jail by # stop all the jailsiocage clean -a umount /mnt/iocage iocage activate mynewpool Any thoughts on this? 1
preedy 1 Posted December 30, 2019 Author Posted December 30, 2019 well, that worked!! Thanks for the help.
Luke 42077 Posted December 30, 2019 Posted December 30, 2019 That's interesting. Thanks for the feedback !
MRobi 161 Posted January 1, 2020 Posted January 1, 2020 If you played with the permissions on the root iocage folder, this would have been the cause of your issues. That is one thing that should never be done with FreeNAS. Changing permissions of your actual data is completely fine. Ultimately destroying the iocage dataset and creating a new one like you did would have put you back to square 1 and let you complete the install. Glad you got it figured out.
makarai 109 Posted January 2, 2020 Posted January 2, 2020 (edited) Most likely permission errors, most likely due to owner problems and chmoding the dataset. There are some docs floating around this forum that have a step by step tutorial on how to install emby. I recommend giving this a try. Edited January 2, 2020 by makarai
