Disable download in brower, but keep download to in app.

Would it be able to implement a user setting that disable the "Download" option in browser.

When I tested this option, it allows you to download the source file.

This is a option i don't want to allow to some users to keep the legality of the usage.

But I still want to provide those users to sync/"Download to" in app.

Legally what do you think the difference is? The user could still get the file from the device

Ok. Then Emby store it's files different than eg. Plex app and other media apps.

eg. Plex store offline files in a protected data directory that only a app (Plex) can access. (At least on Android)

So that users don't have access to the files without root and some tech skills.

 

That is way i asked for this feature to disabling download from browser, but keeping the option to sync/Download to app.

But a browser is just another app.  I'm also not understanding the distinction.  Both allow you to download the content.

Help, i downloaded some episodes, after watching them i deleted from downloads but they remain there, if i click on it it would say there is nothing on downloads, is only for that specific series, picture attached.

yes, of course, they can't download, and precisely for this reason I find it senseless to leave the icon... I find it very annoying, since I have disabled the download..

Not something I need, but I understand the request.  There is a clear difference between wanting to allow users to view content offline (downloaded, but locked/encrypted within the ecosystem), only while they have an active user account, vs being able to sit there and rip the content off to take externally and do whatever they want with.

Not my post, request or family, for clarity.  I am just chiming in to give a request that seemed to be misunderstood a fair crack at the whip.  Not expecting it to get much support, but it should be for the right reasons.  Maybe the OP is using the term family very loosely, like quite a few do, within their limits, but I doubt the OP is worried about being personally 'ripped off', but rather the content being ripped.  It could be way to easy to have someone not maliciously taking large quantities of media, with them unintentionally putting quite a lot of stress on a system that was only expecting to provide content at the rate it could be watched.  Although i could be wrong, and the OP makes enough beer tokens from running his own Netflix to care about lost revenue (ah hem - donations) and feel robbed, but it didn't come across like that in the request.

But app downloads aren't encrypted either. This request makes no sense.
