I think most people/library's should be a little faster than @Dibbes.. That is huge..

I personally have like 15 channels at the mo and a guide refresh takes like 15 seconds..(movies=411, shows=162, ep=4080).

The guide refresh is about 11 hours, down from about 34hrs. That includes about 800 TV channels from various countries as well. (My family has dispersed all over Europe)

I'm still on the previous version, so with the old max of 30, with 3 disabled channels. At the moment I haven't found the energy yet, with all the Christmas travels and cheer, to note down all my channel settings and start from scratch on version 2.

I have some ideas on those channels as there seem to be unlimited now, but I need to test and plan that

The majority. At least over 10hrs. When I disabled the plugin a few months back by renaming the.dll, the refresh was about half an hour... I need to streamline this a little. I still have 30TB worth of archived stuff on slow, low cost storage... These populate 6 channels alone...

@pünktchenis there any way you can build some logging into this? I'd like to find out what the exact cause is this takes so long... is it just waiting for time-outs? is it scanning every single file for data?

More or less, yes. Every library item (not the real file) from the paths you've selected is examined for data in every single condition.

In the new plugin there's an extra debug logging of the channel rules for a selected channel. But that will probably explode your log file. I will look into adding some time measurement.

@pünktchenIs there a possibility to add a criteria here that says "Include only these named movies or TV shows"? I've tried the below, but that does not give me anything on the channel. I suppose I could split out the library into separate shows, and then get these added on Emby level, but that seems to defy the purpose of libraries. Another option would be to make the folder selection more granular and display subfolders to select specific series, but I'm not sure if that is the best option.

It should work like this without any other condition.

The way I thought that was going to work was that everything is excluded, except for what's in the "always" condition

@Dibbes"Free Documentary" and "FreeDocumentary", is this the same show but in different libraries? If so, do both may have a few identical episodes?

Yes, this is the same show in the same library in the same folder... these are Youtube downloads and the filenames are inconsistent.

I tried with either "Free Documentary", "FreeDocumentary" and both (no quotes obviously). Same result though.

I'll give it a shot... however, the refresh has been hanging on 15% for the last 12hrs with a 20% CPU usage on the Emby process and not a thing in the log. Let's see when that finishes...

You should have deactivated all other channels for a test case.

Agreed, but I only put in 12 (of which the other 11 have a populated guide) and I removed the other M3U TV sources... the channels from the previous plugin version have not deleted from the UI yet either... The DB seems locked as the log displays an open socket when opening a webpage, but the page takes 30min to load.

One of these days I should setup a test environment... until that days comes, testing takes a lot of patience

@Dibbesdid you also upgrade your Emby installation to the latest beta just for the new plugin version?

I did some testing: My production system is still on Emby 4.8.0.13. The guide refresh takes at average 15 seconds here. Then i created a copy of the Emby installation and upgraded it to 4.8.0.65. Now the guide refresh takes at average 70 seconds! That's 4.5 times longer than before! And my library is not that big. What is going on here @Luke?
