I have a slight issue.

The VirtualTV plugin is creating the channels I add. It is creating the Guide.

My problem is, is that the guide is Half Hour out. I am watching media that should be on in Half Hour according to the guide.

 

Edit:   Seemed to be only 1 channel that was doing this. SO i deleted channel and recreated and now guide is at correct time for viewing

I was able to figure it out. Made a network drive on my PC with the plugins folder for the emby server instance that's on my Nvidia, then a simple drag and drop and I'm up and running. Took me a minute to figure out since I've never really messed with the server on Nvidia a lot, but wanted a somewhat familiar layout for it when we go traveling which is about every weekend.

I setup my channels for continuous and they don’t load. If they are set to playlist they work.

is there something I need to do?

Not sure if you mean in the guide or generally? This could help, just select the icon shown and a list should pop up in which you can select the details shown in the guide..

I realize I could just filter the guide.

But why are each channel showing the shows as premieres?

Because they are unwatched for the user you've selected in the plugin.

I'm finding this plugin not be very reliable.

I've tried continuous (Preferred way I want to use), playlist playback live.

I find certain clients will just spin never loading the channel, and other will load it.

Seems to be inconsistencies...

Could I ask for a little help? I've been at this for days.

I've set up virtual tv version VirtualTV.1.1.3.2_Emby.4.7.x.zip on Emby Version 4.7.14.0 . I'm running it on Ubuntu 20.04, and have copied VirtualTV.dll to root@emby:/var/lib/emby/plugins. I've set up 4 channels, Comedy TV, Comedy Movies, Christmas TV and Christmas Movies. I used the brilliant "Bulky" plugin to create the Christmas genre.
When I play any of the channels I always get the same tv episodes. The movie channels don't play movies, just the same TV channels as the TV virtual channel.
The TV guide is empty

To save power, the Emby server is turned off at 1:30 am and on again between 4-6 pm.

Things I've tried;
I've forced the refresh of the "Live TV Refresh guide"
Deleted and recreated the channels
Looked through the emby logs. I can't find any errors relevant (I was setting up SSL, but have to finish that off, so its http which works fine for now"

I've put some screenshots below of my system. V01 and V02 are what I see from the "live TV" side V1-39 are the setup of my Virtual TV. The screenshots seem to be in reverse order, look at them from the bottom up, that's my Virtual TV config.

If you can help me I'd be grateful, I'd really like to get this working.

@JuJuJurassicYour genre conditions are wrong. It has to be Christmas && !Horror && !Thriller && !Crime. Similar for your Comedy channel.

I am following the steps to configure VirtualTv on my Unraid system.

The problem I have is that when I finish the configuration VirtualTv only plays a random movie and not the ones that I have indicated in my media library folder.

It doesn't show anything in the guide either.

What Stream Type did you select in the plugin config? If it's "Universal", did you input a "Device Name"?

I left the stream type at default Universal but never set a Device Name which is what fixed it, I gave it a bogus name and it now it works.

This is a long shot since I do not think the issue is VirtualTV related, but I am generating the m3u and xmls and feeding them into Sparkle TV ( LiveChannel ) replacement.

While the m3u loads properly ( including logos ), the xml fails to load.. so far I am unable to get any info/logs from the app to determine why and I have contacted the developer.
I do not have any other way to test these files other than to load them back into Emby ( as a separate TV sources and guide ) and that works.

Again, long shot, but any ideas what may be causing the xml to be rejected ?
