Thanks Punkchen. I will install the build as soon as you get it ready. I will also build another channel to confirm everything is now working OK.

VirtualTV_Debug.zip Enable the logging option in the plugin! Also you should really send me the log via pm, because it will output all your tv shows and episodes.

I have loaded the plugin and enabled debugging. How long should I use the plugin before sending you the log.

How do I send you the log via PM?

Punktchen, I have been building channels all day. I built some by just selecting an Emby library. Others were built using channel rules, both tags and filenames. All worked. I used the plugin code that you gave me for debug (with debugging turned off). Everything worked as expected. I did however notice that the code sometimes capitalizes the first letter of a tag. I also noticed that tagging collections does not work. I didn't expect it to work but thought I would give it a try anyway.

Is it possible to allow collections to be selected like you did for Emby libraries. It would be so useful.

Again, thank you for your work...  I will continue testing the plugin.

Stealing idea from another plugin thread: would it be possible to include Subtitle Language as one of the Channel conditions/rules? Idea is for Channel to play only content with confirmed localized subtitles present.

Wondering if anyone using Unraid could provide some insight regarding how they've gotten this to work on their setup? I have successfully installed this plugin previously on a Windows 10 machine, but can't seem to get the plugin to show up in my new Emby server on Unraid.

I have moved the VirtualTV.dll file into my plugins folder using Krusader. I then restarted my EmbyServer docker and the plugin is not showing up. To make sure it wasn't simply an issue with plugins, I was able to install Trakt. This plugin is still quite niche, so I suspect my best bet at figuring this out will be here rather than the Unraid forum.

I'm using unraid as well - I don't know how you have your set up going but I just put the dll in the appropriate plugin directory of the appdata directory that my docker instance is set up to use and restarted the instance. No going into the container image and putzing around with that, you shouldn't be touching that with krusader or whatever you're using, unless you have things set up in a weird way...

How did you download and move the dll into the plugin folder within Unraid? I thought it would be easiest for me to download the dll on my Windows machine and move it to a mapped drive. I just used Krusader to move it from my mapped drive to the plugin folder.

@brentcoleman I just copied the dll over to TOWER/appdata/EmbyServer/plugins

I don't remember if I had to go into the terminal to change any permissions or user/group ownership, but if I did I just matched with whatever else was in that plugin directory, restarted the docker instance and it just worked.

Thanks for taking the time to provide your process -- could be a permissions issue I suppose. I will look into that next. Cheers!

No problem, when I get some time I can fish out how I have those permissions and ownership set in that directory, it's sounding like it's likely the issue for what you're encountering.

Appreciate that! I will report back if I figure it out. Cheers!

@brentcoleman

the permissions for the plugin in the directory I mentioned is like so:

rw-rw-rw

most of the other plugins in the directory look like

rw-r--r--

so you can probably just have it like that.

chmod 644 VirtualTV.dll

The user and group are `daemon` so you likely need to do

chown daemon:daemon VirtualTV.dll

while inside the plugin directory.

This is how I have it and the plugin works for me so I'm guessing you'll likely need to do the same.

Thanks again for looking into your configuration. I am embarrassed, but also relieved, to admit the issue was with the version of the plugin I selected. I had been trying to utilize the plugin version for Emby 4.6, but EmbyServer is running Emby 4.5. As soon as I tried it with the version for Emby 4.5, it immediately showed up. I feel like an idiot, but I will leave this here in case any other idiots try the same thing!

I’m using the plugin on the Emby server located in my unraid setup. I have the Emby app on Fire TV. On the Fire TV, I have “No program data available” in the guide on a couple random channels, whereas if I open Emby on the server it shows the movie name. If I click “No program data available“ in Fire tv, the movie plays. I tried clearing the cache of the app and the problem goes away, but eventually it’ll happen again. And it’s not on any specific channel. Any ideas?

Not currently. Another user asked for something similar and i've already have a plan about this. But that needs a complete rewrite of the config screen which i hate because of the Javascript code behind it. So maybe in the second half of the year.

that would be very nice! i like it allot now and the last update you made,made it much easier to understand how to pick and choose certain shows to add to a channel before that i could only add a whole folder of stuff now i can pick and chosse each shows i want or dont want. i moved over from plex to emby just because of this plug in.

Thank you so much for this plugin as it's awesome and excellent work on it. I am wondering if it's possible to exclude the specials from a tv series.  I currently have used the tag field to identify 'reality' for the reality channel.  I've tagged each series at the top level with 'reality' but I would like to exclude the special episodes from the channel.  Is there a way to exclude Specials via the channel config or will I have to remove that tag from the top level of the series and tag each season individually?  Any help is appreciated, Thank you again for this plugin.

You can tag the Season 0 (Specials) and then exclude this in your channel condition. Something like this:

reality && !realityspecials
