new_german_guy 1 Posted July 12, 2024 Posted July 12, 2024 I have added a channel that is served with a playlist. i have set "random series/ordered episodes" but now after a few days, only the series with a large number of episodes are running. series that only had 20 episodes, for example, did not start again from the beginning with episode 1. They disappeared completely from the guide and the same thing is gradually happening with other series as soon as all of their episodes have been broadcast. is this a normal process? If so, how can I prevent this? because I would like the series with few episodes to continue to be broadcast and that they then start again at episode 1 when all episodes of the series have already been broadcast. thank you for your help.

It isn't a bug, i just have forgotten to handle that situation for "random series/ordered episodes". Will correct it with an update. 1

Please place the extracted DLL from the attached version into emby\programdata\plugins or wherever it is under a Linux system, restart Emby, reproduce the error and send me the log file. Everyone I know is envious of our homemade "cable tv". So, thank you so much for the hard work. I have a quick question about Bumpers. I have tried to add them in to a couple of my channels but they don't ever seem to appear. I created a channel of all old music videos and have a folder full of random MTV promos to give it the feel of old MTV. I took a screenshot of my bumper settings. I know, the description says it's not needed. But unfortunately that's not true anymore. It has changed with some of the 4.8 versions of Emby and i don't have any solution yet.

Without guide data, no playback! 1

It was working fine and now suddenly there is a 50-60 black screen countdown and then you're booted back to the channel page. I don't have this issue on my phone or computer but both TVs have suddenly stopped working. I have it set to not play more than 3 consecutive episodes of the same show. My understanding is that with this setup, VTV picks a show to play, then picks between 1 and 3 episodes of that show. The problem with this logic is that I have some shows with hundreds of episodes, and some shows with only half a dozen episodes. The selection logic means the half-dozen episodes play far, far more frequently than any episodes in the other shows. Basically, I have a basketball channel that switches between NBA, NBL, and international tournaments (each of which is set up as a "show" in Emby), and because the selection of international tournaments is so much smaller there's basically a 20% chance at any given time that the channel is playing the bronze medal game from the 2021 Olympics. Selection would be more random and varied if, instead of doing that, the plugin simply selected episodes, rather than shows, at random, with a rule to exclude a specific show if it's already run three consecutive episodes from that show. Instead of choosing chunks of shows, it would select random episodes while having a rule in place to ensure it doesn't get stuck on one show for too long.

Most often a device reboot helps, sometimes you have to logoff from the app.

That's what others have requested. Otherwise if there are only a few unwatched episodes of one show, you would never see them if there are many more episodes of the other shows.

It's under Playback Setting - Remove new shows from continue watching. But this will not hide shows that appeared under Continue Watching after you played them from your libraries!
