I have two channels that aren't working.  It's one of looney tunes cartoons and one of Disney cartoons, so they're classified as movies, even though they're usually less than 7 minutes each.  I have movie channels, mixed content and tv show channels all working fine. 

And as I'm typing this, I figured it out, but I'll leave it here for someone else.  

If you set the max and min runtimes, it works out just fine.

I tried setting up channe;s with particular content for ages. In the end I gave up and used the plug in to tag all the cartoons as "cartoons" and set that as a mandatory tag. Worked first time. So much easier.

I've been using this plugin for a long time, but I haven't made any changes to the server recently and noticed that this is now listed in the official catalog. So, I decided to start with a fresh setup of the plugin. Everything has been working fine, but yesterday I added a couple more channels and the scan took ages. So, I reverted back to where I was previously.

Now, for some reason, whenever I try to play any channel, I get a black screen and the progress bar is moving, but nothing appears (or any sound). Do you have any idea what could be causing this?

A restart of Emby sometimes helps. With which app do you experience this behaviour?

No, it still hadn't finished by the morning so i stopped it. Strange because prior to adding these couple of channels it took seconds to scan. THe channels i added were the same type as previous channels created (Genre specific)

It has been restarted a few times now, with no luck. It has been tested on Shield TV, Windows browser, linux browser and android phone so far.

I just tried it again and looking at the progress bar, i noticed that every channel, movie or tv show has a play time of 06:52 (This time grows a few seconds if i close and open after a couple of minutes) and when the file starts it it counts down from -1:00 and starts again if i wait.

 

I have also attached a couple of logs if it helps (Shortened the embyerserver one as too much too edit). Let me know if any further info will assist.

Thank you, I will wait until you have time. I forgot the sever was on beta, maybe if possible i could roll back to the last beta for now. I just need to find out how to do that on docker.

I'm not able to configure the commercials, could someone help me, I put it in a folder on the server and indicated where it is in the bumpers/commercial video field but it doesn't run. Could someone who did it please help me?

But have you also added that folder to Emby as a "Home Videos & Photos" library?

I have just rolled back to beta 4.9.0.24 and that has fixed my issues for now. I hope this helps you with any investigations you need to do.

I managed to do it, but I had to use homemade videos, the problem is that the library appears to the public and that's what I don't want,
for it to appear to the public, so they can open the library and see the content, it starts to look very visually polluted, the emby

You can disable the library access under each Emby user profile.

Hey, I have a couple feature suggestions if you're open to them. The first one is allowing for programmed "special events". Like, maybe have a certain show only play at a certain time of day/night. Or having certain movies/shows play during a specific time of year (so you could have Christmas movies and TV show episodes play during December and whatnot).

My second suggestion is having some sort of episode grouping feature. Right now, the user can set for episodes of the same series to play back-to-back between a range. But if a show has a multi-part finale or something, there is not way to guarantee these episodes play back-to-back. A way this could work is maybe similar to how Emby does the Movie Intro stuff. Each channel could have a "group tag" section. The user would input the group tags they want that channel to look for and the user would just put these group tags into the tag section of the episodes. The group tag feature would work as an override to the normal episode interlacing.

Thanks for making this though. This is my absolute favorite plugin to use.

I started getting this error; running EMBY release 4.9.0.25. I'm tempted to uninstall the Virtual TV plugin from the Catalog to re-install; however, will that retain my settings? If not, is there anyway to backup/restore? I do not want to loose my settings.

Then i'm sorry. That was the way to go in the past. While newer Emby versions have many new bugs around library access control, that old bug is obviously fixed now.

You have the same problem as @Inx192The latest beta server has some code breaking changes. I'm waiting for feedback of the Emby devs. You can rollback to 4.9.0.24 for the time being.

As a possible solution, can you use the tagging feature to add tags to just the 4k content, and utilize this operator?

To my understanding, when I set the 4K Tag in a multi version movie, the movie would ignored completely including the 1080p version. Most of my 4K movies also have the 1080p variant and they are grouped to one movie with a dropdown to choose the version I want to play. But thanks for the suggestion.

Currently i don't know any way of doing this because the playback is initiated by the ItemId only and that is the one of the grouped library item. The versions don't have an ItemId.
