antalj 0 Posted April 23, 2024 Posted April 23, 2024 Hi All, Can I somehow manually change or set the schedule ? Like I want to set certain shows to play at certain time.

You're not the first one asking for this. I'd like to add this at some point, but currently i still don't know how to do it. Everytime somebody asks for this, it gives me sleepless nights.

What about if we were able to select shows / Movies to build some type of playlist and specify a certain to programme to start at a certain time like the prime time option?

As a first step I could be happy with a very lightweight solution, like adding days and time as tags. And based on those tags the script could populate the play list. Actually I just want to define some main Blocks for the kids. Like on every day start the same series next episode at 8.00 pm. The rest of the schedule could be random. The main issue obviously how to fill the schedule between the defined time blocks if there is no content with matching length.

Also time shift... Grin

Something isn't right with it as I checked Trakt to make sure a movie was fully watch there and as soon as I synced the plugin the move gets marked partially watched. Same with the handful of TV episodes which led me to think it was VirtualTV doing it.
slamthedoor 3 Posted April 29, 2024 Posted April 29, 2024 In the v4.8 Emby (v2.2.0.0 VirtualTV plugin), how can I prevent the guide from going empty after a time? In Emby v4.7, there was a "Suspend creation..." option that caused me issues when I didn't understand it. In v4.8, the configuration is different butI still have issues. I have the 'Cache program data until tv guide runs empty' enabled, but still my guide runs empty. I also have guide refresh occurring twice weekly. If I do a 'Force Refresh Guide Data', it'll populate the show for two full weeks, running the entire series in order multiple times (which I like). But, it stops doing that and eventually the guide runs out like the image below. Do I need to refresh the guide more often? I have logging turned on, is there someplace I can check in the log to see why the whole schedule appears to stop? embyserver.txt embyserver-63849772800.txt embyserver-63849945600.txt

Because that’s what the “Cache program data” option is all about. It allows you to refresh guide data for real live tv without creating new program data in the VirtualTV plugin until it is realy needed.

But, how does the plugin know when "it is really needed"? In my case, the guide did a refresh Saturday evening (see above, "last ran 2 days ago") ...why didn't it create program data for Monday and beyond?
sh0rty 714 Posted April 30, 2024 Posted April 30, 2024 (edited) Any chance of getting the channel logos as an overlay into the stream? Or am I missing something. Currently running in Playlist Playback Mode. @pünktchenawesome work since last time i checked the plugin out in 2022. Edited April 30, 2024 by shorty1483

At the time of the guide refresh, the plugin checks if the program cache file has enough data for the next 48 hours. If not, then new data is added to the cache. But this new data is used with the next guide refresh, not the current one.

Currently running in Playlist Playback Mode. A plugin cannot alter any Emby GUI. So the only way to do this would be to burn the logo into the video. I don't think anybody wants transcoding to happen just for the "channel logo overlay". 1
CarneAsada 12 Posted May 2, 2024 Posted May 2, 2024 (edited) I'm unsure how or why but the only method I can use to watch Live TV via this app is through the new BETA feature Native (Achieve). The new plugin from the BETA version of Emby I downloaded from the Plugin Library is very fast - extremely impressed and really took my Dashboard to the next level. I re-created my fav TV Channels this way. A major thanks to the dev! I even setup bumpers (commercials from the 90's) to re-create the virtual mock-up of 90's style channels. Love it!!!! new_german_guy 1 Posted May 17, 2024 Posted May 17, 2024 Hello, I'm new here, i wanted to host my own virtual tv channel on my emby server. But unfortunately it doesn't work, you can see everything I can see in the attached video. I hope somebody can help me 20240517_202143.mp4

new_german_guy 1 Posted May 28, 2024 Posted May 28, 2024 (edited) Can anyone recommend a website where I can find bumpers for my own channels, other than YouTube and Vimeo? another question: Is it actually possible to prevent rewinding and fast-forwarding so that the user thinks it's really a LIVE channel or is that not possible in the API? I have seen at least once in another plugin that rewinding is prevented or does not work. Maybe you can somehow get this integrated into VirtualTV? Edited May 28, 2024 by new_german_guy
bfir3 117 Posted June 2, 2024 Posted June 2, 2024 (edited) Just starting to dig back into this plugin today. Having some issues with adding TV Shows by the studio (network) when the studio has parenthesis in it like ABC (US), ABC (AU) etc. I'm guessing this might have something to do with the logical operators. What should I input for Studios if I want for example just shows from ABC (US) on one channel. Thanks! Doing like this when I press preview the results are never returned. I tried escaping the parenthesis but that didn't work either. EDIT: I think I've figured out the correct way to do this: This is working! Edited June 2, 2024 by bfir3
