timekiller 5 Posted December 23, 2019 Posted December 23, 2019 Emby doesn't seem to search for adult actors. If I try to "Identify" an adult star by name, I got no results. However, if I "Identify" and adult star by manually putting in either their imdb or tmdb id, Emby is able to pull their photo and bio. Using IMDB's advanced search, you can check a radio button to Include Adult Names: https://www.imdb.com/search/name/ Is it possible to tell Emby to include Adult names? Also, is it possible to tell Emby to search for all missing Actors metadata? I really don't want to go through each video by hand and "Identify" each actor.
Luke 42082 Posted December 23, 2019 Posted December 23, 2019 Hi, have you added the actors to the media that they appear in?
timekiller 5 Posted December 23, 2019 Author Posted December 23, 2019 Yes, all nfo files should be updated at this point. I have the actors in the UI, but no pic or bio.
Happy2Play 9783 Posted December 23, 2019 Posted December 23, 2019 Also remember IMDB is not used for any metadata. The IMDB id is used at Emby provider sites TMDB when it comes to People.
Happy2Play 9783 Posted December 23, 2019 Posted December 23, 2019 (edited) It would appear the adult metadata flag is not enable in Emby for TMDB, but that should not matter if you are providing the information via a nfo to Emby. But still comes down to do they exist on TMDB. Edited December 23, 2019 by Happy2Play

I really don't want to go through each video by hand and "Identify" each actor. Do have the "Download images in advance" option enable per library? Download images in advance By default, most images are only downloaded when requested by an Emby app. Enable this option to download all images in advance, as new media is imported. This may cause significantly longer library scans.
timekiller 5 Posted December 23, 2019 Author Posted December 23, 2019 Also remember IMDB is not used for any metadata. The IMDB id is used at Emby provider sites TMDB when it comes to People. Well that explains why sometimes when I have an IMDB id Emby still can't find anything. But as an example where it does, and keep in mind searching for this person by name returns no results: Actor Name: Charlotte Stokely IMDB link: https://www.imdb.com/name/nm2137158/ TMDB link: https://www.themoviedb.org/person/124944-charlotte-stokely?language=en-US If I enter either the imdb id or the tmdb id in the identify window, the actor is found. But not if I enter the name and search that way. Incidentally, why do I have to enter the actor name in the search box, shouldn't Emby prepopulate that?

So When the media was scanned, there was no actor information. It was added after the initial scan.

Happy2Play 9783 Posted December 23, 2019 Posted December 23, 2019 Is that something I can enable manually? @@Luke would have to comment on the plugin but there currently in no option for the "adult content" flag from TMDB. I have not done any testing on Adult media but with a quick test I added a item and Emby was able to identify it but did not return a TMDB id but has a IMDB and TraKt, so not People were added to the media. I manually added the TMDB id and all people were added and images/bio downloaded when I refreshed the media.
timekiller 5 Posted December 23, 2019 Author Posted December 23, 2019 For most of my content, there is no imdb, trakt, or tmdb id, which is part of the reason I am updating the nfo myself (through a script). So in my case, I have a media file (many) with no direct link to anything. It has an nfo file with the actor tags filled in with proper actor names. But the actor metadata is not getting downloaded, presumable because the plugin has to search for them since the media is not linked. The search returns nothing since the plugin does not use include adult content when searching. According to the tmdb api doc (https://developers.themoviedb.org/3/search/search-people) all that needs to be done is to set 'include_adult' to true. Maybe this could be a plugin option? That about sum up the problem?

Sounds pretty straight forward. I assume this just needs a. approval and a code change from @@Luke, and b. a plugin update through my Emby instance? Edited December 23, 2019 by timekiller 3
