Mbppg 3 Posted December 23, 2019 Posted December 23, 2019 (edited) Hi have been running Emby for a while now and since the beginning of the fall 2019 season, I have been recording 60 minutes. About mid Nov 60 minutes stopped recording with the last one being recorded is on Nov 15th. I have checked the schedule and it shows up every Sunday at 6pm MST as well as I have checked to make sure they are new episodes and not re-runs. When I look at the logs I see other shows either starting or stopping but nothing on 60 minutes. then I so find and I see in the log where is it is ready to record again the following Sunday only to have it not record again. I have tried to cancel the recording and add a new based off the latest guide but it still does not record. Attaching screen shots for next Sunday's 60 minute recording and the logs from this past Sunday. Oh and Merry Christmas! embyserver-63712656000.txt Edited December 23, 2019 by Mbppg
Luke 42080 Posted December 23, 2019 Posted December 23, 2019 Hi, it looks like it was not scheduled to record that particular episode. How did you configure the series recording?
Mbppg 3 Posted December 23, 2019 Author Posted December 23, 2019 I configured it like every other recording, I found it in the guide and told it to record the series.
Luke 42080 Posted December 23, 2019 Posted December 23, 2019 You've set it to record new episodes only. Was it marked as new? It's too late to tell now but on the 29th it's marked as new and we can see that it is set to record.
Mbppg 3 Posted December 24, 2019 Author Posted December 24, 2019 (edited) Yes it was marked as new. I even verified on CBS.com that S53E12 aired on Dec. 15th and S53E13 aired on Dec. 22. So We will wait to see what happens on the 29th. Thanks Luke. Edited December 24, 2019 by Mbppg
Mbppg 3 Posted December 28, 2019 Author Posted December 28, 2019 Good morning. So I just checked today and I see the 60 minutes is no longer set to record tomorrow Dec 29th. I checked the guide and it still is showing up as new. Then I checked the logs and see that it both upcoming episodes where there on Thursday and then the 60 minutes Dec 29th episode just dropped off on Fridays logs. I have not made any changes at all to the schedule for 60 minutes or any show for that matter. The server has not been restarted or anything. I did not have debugging on to see what really happened but the show just disappeared again. embyserver-63713001600.txt embyserver-63713088000.txt
ebr 16185 Posted December 28, 2019 Posted December 28, 2019 Since you have the series set to only that one channel, is it possible the channel identifier is changing from your source?
Luke 42080 Posted December 28, 2019 Posted December 28, 2019 Yea you could try setting it to all channels and see if that helps.
Mbppg 3 Posted December 29, 2019 Author Posted December 29, 2019 If the channel Identifier had changed why would the Dec. 29th episode drop but not the Jan 5th drop? So I tried setting it to all channels and then waited a few minutes and then refreshed the guide. It did not change anything. Today's showing still shows new but does not show that is is going to record but the Jan 5th still shows it is going to record.
Luke 42080 Posted December 31, 2019 Posted December 31, 2019 It looks like it's actually two different series in the guide data. They must have a different series Id because otherwise the one from the 29th would at least show up on the series page. Next time you see this, please try clicking on the entry that is not set to record, then see if the next screen allows you to setup a whole new series recording. If it does, then it's actually more than one series in the guide data. And that's obviously not good but that would be the explanation.
Mbppg 3 Posted December 31, 2019 Author Posted December 31, 2019 (edited) Sounds good. As a test for next week I ended up deleting the series and setting it up again. So far I have two shows in the series setting up with new episodes only, don't record any episodes already in my library and set to record on all channels. I also plan to turn on Debugging on Thursday evening to hopefully capture why it may be dropping but I have a feeling it is a guide data issue not an Emby issue. Like something changes about the description during the week that make Emby think it now different somehow. The reason I think this may be the case is that if you look at the picture where it show it is going to record, there is no description of the show, but then you look a little later where on the guide picture where it is showing there is a description it is showing it is not going to record. But both pictures show it as new episode. I don't know but maybe that helps but it is the only thing I see different. The first picture was from earlier in the week and the second was from Friday after the scheduled recording dropped from Emby. Edited December 31, 2019 by Mbppg
Mbppg 3 Posted January 3, 2020 Author Posted January 3, 2020 (edited) Well it happened again. 60 minutes drops off the logs some time between yesterday and today for Sunday the 5th but the showing for the 12th is still set to record. Both still show as new recordings in guide. However I forgot to turn on debugging yesterday. Also I noticed today that there is no info on the show today either so not sure that was the issue as previously thought. At least on the main guide page. I went into the individual show to set record the individual show and there was a description unlike the Sunday the 12th where it only shows a generic description. I will keep an eye on that this next week to so what day the description changes. Edited January 3, 2020 by Mbppg
BAlGaInTl 288 Posted January 3, 2020 Posted January 3, 2020 Is it possible that the guide data is changing as the episodes get closer... I know with a show like 60 minutes... it is scheduled to air, but the "subject" of that show may not be set yet. It's possible that when the episode information is being updated in the guide, that something else that identifies it as the show "60 minutes" as Emby understands it is also changing. I know that doesn't help, but maybe you can monitor the full EPG data from before vs after it falls of the recording schedule to see what's changing?
Mbppg 3 Posted January 3, 2020 Author Posted January 3, 2020 (edited) Sure it is possible and I think that is what is happening between Thursday night and Friday but 60 minutes still shows up as "New' in guide before and after (changes) so I would expect Emby to still record the show. I have tried New episodes only with the Don't record episodes already in my library box checked and unchecked and I have tried from one channel to all channels with the same result. I have not tried to set it to record all episodes but I would like to fix the issue so I do not have to watch for a new season etc. Is there another way to look at the actual guide data other than just the guide page to see Source ID's, Show ID's etc.? Not sure what that could be, but maybe @@Luke would have some insight?
Mbppg 3 Posted January 16, 2020 Author Posted January 16, 2020 Issue is still happening. Again I forgot to turn on full debug but I have it on now to hopefully "Catch" something. Any luck with the guide data?
