Sammy 790 Posted December 18, 2019 Author Posted December 18, 2019 Try shutting down the server and installing the update from the website on top of your existing installation. Now I get this:
Solution CBers 7451 Posted December 18, 2019 Solution Posted December 18, 2019 Have you rebooted your PC ? Might be that the folder is in use. 1
Sammy 790 Posted December 18, 2019 Author Posted December 18, 2019 Rebooting the machine did the trick. Seems Emby has some things to resolve still with the (un-)installer.. 1

ebr 16185 Posted December 18, 2019 Posted December 18, 2019 There are any number of things that could potentially be holding a lock on that folder - including you having an explorer window open looking at something. The reboot is the best way to be sure everything is cleared out. Thanks. 1
Sammy 790 Posted December 19, 2019 Author Posted December 19, 2019 Have you rebooted your PC ? Might be that the folder is in use. Let me add this.. I rebooted before seeing this posted. Actually, I unplugged and moved the PC from the dining room high top table into the office at the request of my Better Half!

Agreed, but shouldn't there be a way for the installer to resolve this with a pop up window asking the end user if it can close certain things to complete the installation? A lot of programs do this rather than appear to update then not update.

A lot of programs do this rather than appear to update then not update. Our update process is designed to be completely unattended as it happens when no one is there and even on machines with no monitor or keyboard. What we could potentially do in the future is have an alert in the dashboard that the attempt to update failed.
Sammy 790 Posted December 19, 2019 Author Posted December 19, 2019 Maybe I am in the minority but I have auto update turned off as I'm a control freak when it comes to tech stuff.. Sent from my SM-G960U1 using Tapatalk 2
