ET: movies with 7.1 sound will not play audio

All, I switched from Chrome to ET. Wow, what a difference. Picture is better and ET uses my video card which saves a TON of CPU usage. 

 

I have several movies in 4k and 7.1 to play on my TV downstairs. However, when I play on ET, no sound comes out. If I choose any other audio format it works, (5.1, stereo, etc.). In fact sometimes, if the movie only has 7.1, it will not start playing at all. When this happens, I have to kill ET.

 

I cannot find any settings that let it change to the local settings (play a 7.1 on stereo). 

 

In particular, AAC 7.1. And the movies play with sound in Chrome. Also, when I play

Which version of ET?  

 

There really needs to be a better way of distinguishing between version though.

Version 1.1.276.0. I just downloaded and installed it. 

 

I do not understand :"sepearate topics app store vs desktop"

 

I am on windows 10 pro and downloaded the app from the microsoft store. Was that correct?

The store app uses the stock windows video player, and although it superior to the browser video player it still has it's limitations.

 

The desktop app embeds a much more robust player, and it can be downloaded from here:
