Mr.Smith 0 Posted December 14, 2019 Posted December 14, 2019 I have two music libraries: Artists_MP3 and Artists_FLAC. Whichever one I enter, the result is the same - content from both libraries are displayed. It doesn't matter whether I select Artists or Album Artists. Both libraries do point to the correct directories and only the correct ones, so it's not that either is duplicating a directory of the other. I doubt this Is intended behavior but can't find a reason or fix for it. I know very little about the operation of Emby so I don't want to refer to this as a bug and look really foolish. Obviously, it's something I'm doing wrong. However, I can't understand why content would be shared across libraries. That's not why I created separate libraries in the first place. What am I missing here?
Mr.Smith 0 Posted December 14, 2019 Author Posted December 14, 2019 (edited) I'm not sure what you're getting at? I created the two libraries and pointed them to the proper directories, each different. What should I be looking for as to how I set them up? Unable to upload images again. I send to server but it complains about needing a URL. Edited December 14, 2019 by Mr.Smith

Mr.Smith 0 Posted December 14, 2019 Author Posted December 14, 2019 Well, I managed to post the image but was unable to attach text to it so here is the text. The first Allman Bros album is the mp3 copy. The second, the flac copy. Even though I'm in the Artists_FLAC library, both appear there.
Happy2Play 9783 Posted December 14, 2019 Posted December 14, 2019 What view is that, as it is not the normal Music-Album view? (you can tell by the header) But I can not reproduce any issue with separate MP3 and Flac structured libraries. Each library only shows what is in that library.
Mr.Smith 0 Posted December 14, 2019 Author Posted December 14, 2019 (edited) The view is from selecting Albums > underneath the bio info of the artist. I'll rescan each library and see if cleans things up. Will take quite a awhile... thousands of album in each. If not, I'll delete both libraries and recreate them again. Happy2Play 9783 Posted December 15, 2019 Posted December 15, 2019 The view is from selecting Albums > underneath the bio info of the artist. Okay that is a Global link for the Artist. So you see everything for that Artist. @@Luke should these itemdetails links be Global or Parentid restricted? Technically the itemdtetails Genre links are the same way.
Mr.Smith 0 Posted December 15, 2019 Author Posted December 15, 2019 (edited) Yes, on the Home screen where the Most Recents are, mp3 and flac are separated there as expected. I always use the Albums > view because I can't stand scrolling sideways to view all albums. I wish there was a way to reduce the size of the covers so more would fit on the screen at once. I have over 120 Grateful Dead flac albums alone. It's a pain to scroll horizontally to find what I'm looking for. If I use another view (forgot which one) then I have to use arrows to page down through them. Would be nice to use the mouse wheel for vertical scrolling. But I understand that most folks probably use media servers for video on large TVs so this way may be more efficient for them. By the way, is there a way to reorganize albums with oldest first? I usually find that an artists' first few albums are the best and they go downhill with each successive album. Edited December 15, 2019 by Mr.Smith

See that Arrow next to Release Date in Sort by, click it again to toggle ascending and descending.
Mr.Smith 0 Posted December 15, 2019 Author Posted December 15, 2019 (edited) Ah. Ok, it was hiding on me. Well, I already had it sorted in chronological order on the Albums > page but that arrow has no effect on the sort where you scroll horizontally on the Artitst page. No big deal, as I don't use that screen for scrolling through albums anyway. I just thought it would save a step or two if it were sorted there, too, so I could grab one of the first few albums right off the bat. Not an issue but nice to know where it was hiding. Anyway, if any of my users ask I'll know what to tell them now. Also, don't go making any code changes on my account. I'll just add a [MP3] to the title of my mp3 albums then it won't matter if they're all mixed together. I just wanted to make sure I wasn't making any setup mistakes before I started doing that to them. For example, my flac album titles are already in a format like this: The Allman Brothers Band [2007 JP Capricorn PHCR-94001 SHM-CD] Thanks, man. Edited December 15, 2019 by Mr.Smith
Luke 42085 Posted December 15, 2019 Posted December 15, 2019 Currently this is expected behavior but it's something that could potentially be revised in the future. Thanks.
