Subtitle Extraction Issues/Changes?

Hi, I updated from 4.2.1.0 to 4.3.0.30.

 

In 4.2.1.0 when I would play a video file with embedded subtitles emby would first pause while it extracted the subtitle file from the video and then when done start playing the video. This wasn't optimal but it worked.

 

In 4.3.0.30 When I play a video file with embedded subtitles emby will start playing the video immediately and in the background extract the subtitles from the file (I can tell because I check my servers activity and its reading the file at 140MB/s (megabytes not bits) while im playing it.

 

The issue I am running in to is that subtitles will not display until Emby is completely done extracting the subrip file. Problem being if any subtitle is near the beginning of the video it is missed. Some movies are obviously foreign and have translations almost immediately.

 

Am I correct in what is going on? Is there a way to revert to the old method of having Emby wait for the subtitle to extract before starting to play the video? My files are all MKV and have the subtitle inside the container.
