notpiika 1 Posted December 9, 2019 Posted December 9, 2019 I have a file with a MediaInfo of this. My subtitle selection settings are the default settings, which is to select based on preference and if they are forced or default. However, just for this series (and its files), the only subtitle track (the Englishone) is being selected. If I turn it off, go back, and navigate to the same episode, it's selected again. This doesn't happen for other series. I do see that the audio track doesn't have a language tag, that may be related somehow? I really want to refrain from modifying my files though. Thanks!
Luke 42080 Posted December 9, 2019 Posted December 9, 2019 Hi there, please attach a copy of the media info from the bottom of the web app detail screen. Thanks.
notpiika 1 Posted December 9, 2019 Author Posted December 9, 2019 (edited) Here it is, thank you for the quick response! Edited December 9, 2019 by notpiika
Luke 42080 Posted December 10, 2019 Posted December 10, 2019 If you mark it favorite then refresh the page, does that stick?
notpiika 1 Posted December 10, 2019 Author Posted December 10, 2019 It still does, tried turning it off and going back in too, still stays sadly.
Luke 42080 Posted December 10, 2019 Posted December 10, 2019 your settings are utilized, but track selections are also remembered on a per file basis.
notpiika 1 Posted December 10, 2019 Author Posted December 10, 2019 i turned it off for this specific one though, and it still stays? what do you mean?
notpiika 1 Posted December 10, 2019 Author Posted December 10, 2019 Because if I turn it off, and go back into it (navigate back, go into it again), it's not what I selected (subtitle track off but it's on)?
notpiika 1 Posted December 10, 2019 Author Posted December 10, 2019 (I'm confused with what you're saying )
notpiika 1 Posted December 10, 2019 Author Posted December 10, 2019 By seeing that when I set it to "Off," (note: in the episode overview screen) then go back, it then gets set back to the subtitle track?
Luke 42080 Posted December 10, 2019 Posted December 10, 2019 That will not do anything. You need to start playing in order for it to be remembered.
notpiika 1 Posted December 10, 2019 Author Posted December 10, 2019 Alright. However, I do ask, why on something that I've never played, it still defaults to the sub track (exact same media info, different duration though)? It's a completely different episode in the series that I've never played before, why are subs the default then?
Luke 42080 Posted December 10, 2019 Posted December 10, 2019 That depends on your emby user subtitle preferences.
notpiika 1 Posted December 10, 2019 Author Posted December 10, 2019 Yes, and it's set to: - Preferred Language: English - Subtitle mode: Default And the subs it's selecting aren't set as default or forced (see the screenshot in an earlier post), so why is that being selected?
notpiika 1 Posted December 10, 2019 Author Posted December 10, 2019 Strange, setting the preferred language to "Any language" makes it do what I want to, not select a sub track. Very strange, but it works...
Luke 42080 Posted December 12, 2019 Posted December 12, 2019 Ok in this case it's because the audio language is undefined. If it had been English to match your preferred subtitle language, then it wouldn't have been selected.
