Statick 15 Posted December 6, 2019 Posted December 6, 2019 for some reason I don't see progress indicators on individual libraries when they are scanning anymore I used to - each library would show a percentage and a green circle showing the progress, as well as the overall bar progress at the top of the page at some point this stopped happening, and now I only get the overall bar progress. was this removed in an update? or just something that's happened on my computer? I've uninstalled and reinstalled and also installed the beta and these indicators haven't returned, I still only get the overall progress and not the individual progress on each library possibly related, when I select "scan library files" or "refresh metadata" on any individual library, nothing happens at all
Happy2Play 9792 Posted December 6, 2019 Posted December 6, 2019 I am not seeing a library scan indicator issue. But don't get library scan indicators on every library, but assume library size has a factor. (Had to adjust my custom css for .progressring though) Note I see the same indicator on Home Screen.
arrbee99 1820 Posted December 6, 2019 Posted December 6, 2019 Noticed a few days ago, didn't show up in Chrome but did in Firefox. Had both open at the same time. Think it was on beta .24.
Luke 42099 Posted December 6, 2019 Posted December 6, 2019 Sometimes it might be so quick that you might not even see it.
Statick 15 Posted December 19, 2019 Author Posted December 19, 2019 without any updates or changes to Emby, they came back for a bit, now they're gone again - really weird!I'm using Firefox. for a couple of weeks they were appearing even on the full library scans (each library would progress to 100% in turn), now I've not seem them for a few days, even after reboots etc. the quick thing might explain it - however these scans are happening over a very slow network connection, and normally take a very long time. a full library scan usually takes over 24 hours to complete, there are 8 similarly sized libraries, I would expect any of them to take several hours to complete - if I click on any of them to scan individually it seems as though nothing happens can we get some clearer feedback on these individual scans? maybe a popup to indicate that it's started and another to indicate completion? I notice there's a popup when you click "refresh metadata" but there's nothing at all for "scan library files". in my case, if they're happening so quickly that they're finished almost instantly, that would indicate a failure of some kind
Luke 42099 Posted December 23, 2019 Posted December 23, 2019 Hi, the server sends the progress notifications to the browser via a web socket connection. If this connection gets dropped by the browser then that could cause this to happen. As long as you are actively using the web app, it should not get dropped, but if you put it in the background, let it sit idle for a while, etc, things of that nature, then the connection could be closed by the browser. But once you come back in and start clicking around, it will re-open again.
