jjis2020 1 Posted December 5, 2019 Posted December 5, 2019 I have Emby installed on Ubuntu 18.04, when I try to connect with the Emby app on Streaming Stick I get: "we're unable to connect to the selected server right now. please ensure it is running and try again." I installed Emby on a Windows PC and set it up and the Roku will connect to that one.
Luke 42078 Posted December 5, 2019 Posted December 5, 2019 Hi there, how are you trying to connect? Did you enter the server ip address into the Roku app?
jjis2020 1 Posted December 5, 2019 Author Posted December 5, 2019 Hi there, how are you trying to connect? Did you enter the server ip address into the Roku app? Yes, I also tried through the Roku Media Player app and the Emby server was not there.
Luke 42078 Posted December 5, 2019 Posted December 5, 2019 You may need to allow it through Ubuntu's firewall: https://help.ubuntu.com/lts/serverguide/firewall.html Have you looked at that?
