Jules0815 2 Posted December 4, 2019 Posted December 4, 2019 Hi members, I have a problem with the library scan of my movies. I am running Emby server on an Unraid server (Version 6.7.2) as docker. In the past it was once running completely through the movies. While checking the results, I got issues with pictures in the movie folders which had a bad resolution. I deleted the pictures from the folders and started a new library scan. Since then, the movie library scan is not able to finish. It always stucks at ~15%. Series library scan is working well. What I did to solve the issue: Disabled most library scan options (e.g. subtitles and thumbnails and only use open movie database as metadata source) Removed Movie library and added it completely new Uninstalled emby docker from Unraid, deleted app folder and installed and configured again Let the library scanrun for several days in order to see if there is any progress Logs attached Many Thanks in advance for help emby_logs_Jules0815.zip
ebr 16185 Posted December 4, 2019 Posted December 4, 2019 Hi. How long have you waited? It probably isn't stuck but, rather, just moving slowly.
Jules0815 2 Posted December 4, 2019 Author Posted December 4, 2019 I think something around 5-7 days?
Luke 42081 Posted December 4, 2019 Posted December 4, 2019 Hi there, if you try to stop the scheduled task, does it stop?
Jules0815 2 Posted December 4, 2019 Author Posted December 4, 2019 Stopped scan ~20min ago. It still says: Scan media libraryStopping Thumbnail image extractionStopping In Library view there is still 15% progress shown.
Luke 42081 Posted December 4, 2019 Posted December 4, 2019 OK so something is actually stuck. Try disabling the thumbnail extraction for now and see if that gets you through the scan. Thanks.
Jules0815 2 Posted December 5, 2019 Author Posted December 5, 2019 I stopped the server as the stopping process was not finishing. I went into library settings --> Movie Image Fetchers --> uncheck "Thumb". Is that the right setting to disable thumbnail? Found no other. Started library scan again, again stucking at the 15% (in Overview it is always 13,6%) after ~15h. In the overview it again also says: Thumbnail image extractionStopping Thanks so far
ebr 16185 Posted December 5, 2019 Posted December 5, 2019 This is the setting you want to disable. Note, this is within each library and you have to click the "Advanced" switch at the top to see it.
Jules0815 2 Posted December 5, 2019 Author Posted December 5, 2019 Hi This is already disabled. I only have "Save pictures in media folders" activated. Everything else is disabled.
Jules0815 2 Posted December 7, 2019 Author Posted December 7, 2019 Disabled setting "Save pictures in media folders". Stopped docker. Started again and run the library scan. Right now, again at 15%. Waiting for processing or your hints. Do you need logfiles again? Thanks
Luke 42081 Posted December 7, 2019 Posted December 7, 2019 Yes please attach a new server log based on these changes. thanks.
Jules0815 2 Posted December 8, 2019 Author Posted December 8, 2019 Logs addedStill at 13,6% in Overview and 15% in library view.It again says in overview:"Thumbnail image extractionStopping"below the 13,6% progress emby_logs_Jules0815_2.zip
ebr 16185 Posted December 8, 2019 Posted December 8, 2019 Have you restarted your server since the previous attempts where this got stuck? If not, please definitely do that and then also confirm that the extraction process is not enabled during the scan. Thanks.
Jules0815 2 Posted December 9, 2019 Author Posted December 9, 2019 Hi guys, thanks to all so far. I found the error . The pictures within the folders which I removed from the movie folders and wanted to delete I backuped in a folder. This folder was unlikely within the Movie folder. I thought it would be skipping as no movie files (mkv/mp4) is in but this was the reason for the stucking. Thanks for your help and sorry. library scan is now running in plenty time!
Jules0815 2 Posted December 9, 2019 Author Posted December 9, 2019 Cover pictures which were within the movie folders. I got issues with these pictures because they were taken by emby as movie cover also when they had a bad resolution. If they were taken by emby, I was not able to change the picture.
