Luke 42077 Posted December 3, 2019 Posted December 3, 2019 Hi there, why do you feel this is no longer possible? Can you please describe your issue in more detail? Thanks.
jesmo 0 Posted December 4, 2019 Author Posted December 4, 2019 (edited) Despite this setting, the movies are no longer grouped. Everything worked fine before the update. Synlogy 218 Edited December 4, 2019 by jesmo

Luke 42077 Posted December 5, 2019 Posted December 5, 2019 Do you have a collection containing Saw and Saw IV?
jesmo 0 Posted December 5, 2019 Author Posted December 5, 2019 I found a problem. It's up to the sorting. Is this a Bug or alright?Sorting "date added" ------------ no groupSorting A-Z ----------------------- group okCan anybody confirm this? That was not the case before the update.
Luke 42077 Posted December 5, 2019 Posted December 5, 2019 Yes that's by design because the sorting takes place after the collection substitution. When you sort by date added, you want this to be based on date added of the movies, right, and not the date you added the collection. In order to make that sort work properly it's going to take a fair amount of additional work, so because we're not ready to do that yet, we've just disabled it for now.
resoursedu 1 Posted December 5, 2019 Posted December 5, 2019 Hi, I think this function is important to users. would you plz add a radio button to enable or disable this function. thank you Yes that's by design because the sorting takes place after the collection substitution. Luke 42077 Posted December 5, 2019 Posted December 5, 2019 No, that's not the right approach. Once the sorting features are improved, then it will stay grouped even when sorting.
jesmo 0 Posted December 5, 2019 Author Posted December 5, 2019 OK thanks. I understand that the function is not easy. But grouping makes more sense. As I said before the update was fine
Luke 42077 Posted December 5, 2019 Posted December 5, 2019 Well it's not fine when people tell you that the sorting doesn't work. That's why we're not going to even try until it completely works. Thanks for the feedback.
Luke 42077 Posted January 14, 2021 Posted January 14, 2021 This will be more flexible in Emby Server 4.6. Thanks.
Happy2Play 9780 Posted January 15, 2021 Posted January 15, 2021 Repost from Report center from @resoursedu How will this feature looks like?
Luke 42077 Posted January 15, 2021 Posted January 15, 2021 You'll be able to use a few more filters and sort orders and still group by collections.
