pt1xoom 12 Posted December 3, 2019 Posted December 3, 2019 Hello, I have a server that is over 4 years old now. Windows 2012 R2, AMD FX-8320 Eight-Core Processor 3.5 GHz, 16 GB RAM, 500 GB SSD. I am running into some small problems streaming live TV, and what I've read is that the transcode process is not able to keep up. What would be some upgrades that I could do to this server? New CPU? New Motherboard/CPU? Adding a video card so I can take advantage of Hardware Acceleration? Is that what I need to take advantage of hardware acceleration? Which video cards are suggested? Thank you.
mastrmind11 722 Posted December 3, 2019 Posted December 3, 2019 That processor should be able to handle transcoding 6-7 streams simultaneously, so I wouldn't upgrade anything. Attach the transcode logs for when you're watching TV and let's go from there.
