Tobi Uchiha 1 Posted November 30, 2019 Posted November 30, 2019 Hello, for some reason the Backdrop image of the season is displayed for entries in the 'Next up' and 'Continue watching' categories. If I remove the Backdrop image, it correctly displays the Primary image of the episode. Why is it choosing the Backdrop image over the Primary image of the episode? Doesn't make sense to me. Is it possible to configure this behavior and if not, what is your reasoning behind choosing the season Backdrop image over the Primary image of the episode? Thanks for your hard work on the product! 1
Luke 42093 Posted November 30, 2019 Posted November 30, 2019 Hi, the order of priority is series thumb -> series backdrop -> episode image. If you make sure your series has a thumb image, you'll probably like the result better.

If you make sure your series has a thumb image, you'll probably like the result better. That's not an option for me. All of my MetadataResolver provided images are in a portrait format, which looks good for primary series / season images, but horrible as thumbs. My episode images are screen grabs and as such they are in the correct landscape format. Is there no way to change the selection priority? I really do not want to have to download and set a thumb image for all of my medias. :/

If it's not too much work, I would still like to have an option to use episode images per default.
ebr 16216 Posted December 1, 2019 Posted December 1, 2019 Just for insight into why we have this priority - The series images are usually much more descriptive of the content (in terms of what show it is) than an episode image. IOW - glance at a series thumb or backdrop and you probably know what show it is - a thumb from a single episode, maybe, maybe not. 1
crusher11 1105 Posted December 1, 2019 Posted December 1, 2019 Yeah, I agree with this for regular TV shows. I've managed to override it for my sports events by adding episode backdrops, because that's a situation where which specific episode it is holds a greater level of importance, and each backdrop is manually created to include date, teams playing, etc.
