pcm2a 9 Posted November 27, 2019 Posted November 27, 2019 I have some shows being recorded by TV Mosaic and they are all placed in a single folder, no sub folders. They come with an nfo file and are named decently I guess. Is there a way to have Emby organize these shows into their own show/series? Example of what I see in Emby, the type of content is set to Mixed Content: Example of what I see if I move these folder into Emby's DVR Recordings area and I place them in the Rick and Morty sub folder. This is also mixed content. Luke 42081 Posted November 27, 2019 Posted November 27, 2019 Our supported TV naming conventions can be found here: https://github.com/MediaBrowser/Wiki/wiki/TV-naming We hope to be able to support a mish-mash in the future.
pcm2a 9 Posted November 27, 2019 Author Posted November 27, 2019 Through trial an error here is what I have found out: In mixed content mode Emby needs two things: folder and tvinfo.nfo. If I move the episodes into a folder and I copy the Emby DVR tvinfo.nfo file then it shows up perfectly. In tv content mode Emby just needs the folder and it figures the rest out. Is there a way to generate these tvinfo.nfo files through some kind of identify process?
Luke 42081 Posted November 27, 2019 Posted November 27, 2019 Well it has to be detected as a series first in order to use the series identification functions.
pcm2a 9 Posted November 27, 2019 Author Posted November 27, 2019 How does one tell Emby that a folder is a TV/series in a mixed content library? I assume once I can tell the folder that it is a tv series then I can identify it, which would create the tvinfo.nfo file?
Luke 42081 Posted November 27, 2019 Posted November 27, 2019 It has to look like a tv series, so you need to have series content underneath it.
pcm2a 9 Posted November 28, 2019 Author Posted November 28, 2019 Thanks for the tips, I think I get it now. My mistake was comparing it to the Emby DVR folder. Emby must do some magic when recording a show and it makes the tvinfo.nfo file, even though the show isn't named in a manner that Emby would match as a series. Things that dont work: Moving the DVR Emby named file into another folder. Emby does not recognize the naming format. Things that work: Renaming E201 to S02E01, the folder gets set up as a series. Copying an existing tvinfo.nfo into the folder, the folder is set up as a series. Too bad there isn't a way to generate that nfo file. I'll keep digging around.
