chjohans 34 Posted November 26, 2019 Posted November 26, 2019 Came home after a long weekend and noticed that my Emby server had auto updated to version 4.3.0.30 (using the usual script as I'm running Emby as a service), and that it was no longer working. Seems like it's trying to start and then just restarting - for whatever reason. Attaching log files from 3 startup attempts, hopefully someone can see what is going on. If I try to access the server with a browser it's just saying "Emby Server is loading. Please try again shortly.", then it seems to crash and it all starts over again. Please see the attached 3 logfiles. embyserver.txt embyserver-63710426744.txt embyserver-63710426975.txt
Luke 42085 Posted November 26, 2019 Posted November 26, 2019 Hi, try starting up with the tray icon without the windows service. Please see how that compares. Thanks.
chjohans 34 Posted November 26, 2019 Author Posted November 26, 2019 That made no difference. But, the last changed I made was that I installed the Sonos Controller plugin a couple of weeks ago. I deleted that plugin and restarted the server and it's working again now. So it seems that the Sonos Controller plugin was the culprit. I have quite a few plugins installed, most of which I depend on. I do understand that various plugins are "community projects" and developed and maintained by "the community". But it seems to me like a better "plugin compatibility check" would be a good idea, so the server would not try to load plugins that are not confirmed compatible with the current running server version.

The Majority of the plugins already do this 1
Luke 42085 Posted November 26, 2019 Posted November 26, 2019 We'll look into the plugin. Thanks for reporting. 1
chjohans 34 Posted November 26, 2019 Author Posted November 26, 2019 Thank you. I love the "responsiveness" of this forum, you can't really ask for better support than this!
chjohans 34 Posted November 26, 2019 Author Posted November 26, 2019 The Majority of the plugins already do this That's good to know, but it only takes one that doesn't to break things. If it was not left to the plugins but done by the server then maybe a singløe plugin couldn't break things like this. But not a really big deal since this forum is active and most things find a quick solution.
Happy2Play 9784 Posted November 26, 2019 Posted November 26, 2019 Yep that specific community broke it.
