syadnom 25 Posted November 25, 2019 Posted November 25, 2019 I see that Emby likes HLS chunks for streaming to clients (Awesome) but the API guide I'm seeing doesn't say anything about http/https, but the examples are https. The formatting of the stream /Video/{ID}/master.m3u8 doesn't seem to work for me as I don't know where to find the ID. basically, I want to cache this, but to cache it I would need it to be unencrypted or get a copy of the cert to put in the proxy. Further, the web server would need to NOT set the do-no-cache bits or I'd need to make some incompatible changes to the proxy. I tend to have multiple devices watching the same content remotely. Ie, my parents house might have 2-3 TVs on playing the same show within a short (cache friendly) time frame.
Luke 42080 Posted November 25, 2019 Posted November 25, 2019 The api can be accessed from either http or https depending on your server settings. The id of the video is something that you would already have prior to trying to stream it if you are using the api.
