Emby for Kodi: out of sync Web player and Kodi

Hi,

 

 

When I select my HTPC as "Play on another device", and Emby for Kodi, and play anything from my music collection (Album, EP, or even shuffle), the Web client shows the playback has started, and Kodi starts the playback with the first song... however, then immediately the Web browser skips to the next song, while Kodi keeps playing the first one... If I stop in the browser, and start again, then the web player skips the 1st, 2nd, then shows playing the 3rd item... if I do it again, the web player skips the 1st-3rd item, and shows the 4th playing, while all the time, Kodi plays the first one as it should....

 

 

What is going on here?

Can anyone tell me if this is something just I see?

 

 

Kodi from Debian (17.6 Debian package version: 2:17.6+dfsg1-1ubuntu1)

Emby for Kodi 4.1.16

Emby 4.3.0.26

 

 

In Kodi logs, I only see the first track ever mentioned, and as I tell you, Kodi keeps playing the first song.

Hi, what if you just use the web app all be itself, how does that compare?

It is perfect then... the first song plays every single time in the browser...

Playback stop milliseconds then reported in the log accurately (while you can see I get 0 ms all the time for some reason here), attaching such a log:

and what happens if you use Emby for Kodi all by itself? How does that compare?

Honestly, I did not understand at all in that case what happened, the playback was kind of random... I tried to reason it like 10 times, but different things happened.

 

I re-setted the Kodi library, and issues a full resync, see if it solves the issue.

OK, I did a Kodi full re-sync from scratch, and this seems to have fixed the issue.

 

So always remember, before sending in a bugreport, clean your library in Kodi and freshly redo it, 90% of problems are solved by that it seems. :D
