Carlo 4561 Posted June 15, 2021 Posted June 15, 2021 Hi, Unfortunately if you don't have a backup of the playlist it's probably gone for good since it was overwritten. Since you just upgraded to 4.6 you want to run a Full Library scan which may fix any little things that happen during the upgrade. Yes, backup config plugin is a great idea!
SL0PPY 0 Posted July 8, 2021 Posted July 8, 2021 This issue happened to me as well. running unraid server using binhex-emby. really frustrating. One of the playlists doesnt show any songs in emby and wont play anything, although total play time is there. When I open the playlist.xml file all the songs are there. Not sure whats going on. Any fixes to this yet?
Carlo 4561 Posted July 9, 2021 Posted July 9, 2021 Hi, copy your playlists so you have a copy of them before doing anything. Then open any missing playlist from the copy and manually recreate them. Right now this is the best solution to this issue. 1
Kenacious_D 10 Posted July 9, 2021 Posted July 9, 2021 Same here. all of the titles of my playlists show up but when I click them they are empty. I've copied these two parts of other posts and am going to try and fix the issue when I get home today. I'll post after I try it out. I found the playlists in this folder: C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Roaming\Emby-Server\programdata\data\playlists The actual playlist.xml files contain music tracks in them. However Emby won't show any of this data, all of the playlists just show as empty. I was able to fix the playlist by manually fixing the XML file. Your parsing is broken, or there is something wonky with permissions here. My old playlists had this section at the bottom that the new ones didn't: <Shares> <Share> <UserId>1</UserId> <CanEdit>true</CanEdit> </Share> </Shares> <PlaylistMediaType>Audio</PlaylistMediaType> 1
Kenacious_D 10 Posted July 10, 2021 Posted July 10, 2021 Well here's an update. I went to the C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Roaming\Emby-Server\programdata\data\playlists folder and only one of my ten or so playlists was actually in there. I realized that all of the other playlists were created in Windows Media Player. I don't know how to make these work again in Emby. Any help would be much appreciated.

If the playlist was created by Emby it would be in that folder. So your playlists are most likely m3u playlists, that are probably along side your media files. You would need to locate the files and verify the file content. But we would need specific examples. 1
