easez88 16 Posted November 23, 2019 Posted November 23, 2019 (edited) Hello, When certain HVEC videos I am getting a black screen instead of the video content. From what I can tell it only happens on Safari. Chrome plays it back fine. From what I can tell the difference is that when I play from Chrome the video is transcoded, but when I play from Safari it is direct streamed. Anyone experience this before? Edit: Logs serverlog.txt servertranscode.txt serverdirectstream.txt Edited November 23, 2019 by easez88
Happy2Play 9789 Posted November 23, 2019 Posted November 23, 2019 Would need ffmpeg log and possibly server log. But sound like all the other topics that are having issues direct streaming hevc. I believe hevc not liking the video stream copy.
easez88 16 Posted November 23, 2019 Author Posted November 23, 2019 logs added to original post. I didn't find anything while searching, probably because I didn't know what to search for. Can you link me to the other post so I can follow along?
Luke 42093 Posted November 23, 2019 Posted November 23, 2019 Can you capture the safari debug console contents? Thanks.
easez88 16 Posted November 23, 2019 Author Posted November 23, 2019 Can you capture the safari debug console contents? Thanks. This is about 30 seconds worth starting from when I hit the play button. consolelog.txt
Luke 42093 Posted November 24, 2019 Posted November 24, 2019 As a test, if you turn off subtitles prior to starting playback, does this still happen?
easez88 16 Posted November 24, 2019 Author Posted November 24, 2019 As a test, if you turn off subtitles prior to starting playback, does this still happen? It happens with sub titles off. I tried with every combination. Choices also don't have an effect on chrome. It continues working.
